I find ((hic)) that a pink elephant ((hic)) typically makes me stop thinking about ANYTHING ((hic)) for too long!

I've become adept at suppressing negative thoughts. Trump, COVID, anti-vaxxers, the destruction of Democracy, the rise in authoritarianism ... If I let the negativity run, the anger would eat me alive. But first, I wouldn't be able to sleep. So, I just pointedly make myself think of other things. I let myself grumble and fume over current affairs until 6 in the evening. Then, I stop.  Giving the outrages a time slot helps me to confine them to a time slot, I think.

YMMV. I could just be getting old.

The way that article was written makes me want to punch the author in the face. I mean just tell me what the damn blue dolphin is already stop teasing it.

I really enjoyed that book back in sixth grade. It was part of our reading class.
