RedVentrue: KarmicDisaster: It would totally suck to evolve on a planet around a star that was going to die. Or next to a gamma ray burster. Or in the path of a drifting rogue planet or orbiting asteroid or around a flare star.

Planets have been spotted around neutron stars. Formed from the left over exploded stuff. I imagine it's all highly radio active. That would suck.

Why bother with a planet?
