Yeah, unless it simulates crawling into a 55 gallon drum and laying there while a bunch of leprechauns bang on it with hammers ands shoot you with little toy "ray guns", it's not going to prepare the kids for ANYTHING MRI related.

What I'm saying is that if you are suffering a months long headache, and you're scheduled for an MRI, don't go in that day if it's a particularly bad day for your headache, or you may lose your mind entirely.

Does look like a cool set, though. :-)

What if we put vaccines in to Lego's and sold them at Walmarts across the country? Could we reach 100% vaccination rate if we ban hard soled shoes?

I've had 3 MRIs: one for headaches, and two for spinal issues. I'm one of those people who can fall asleep anywhere and I actually dozed off each time. Bright lights? Enclosed area? Clanking and pounding noises? Big deal. After the last scan the tech actually had to come into the room and shake me awake.

I've had a couple, definitely claustrophobia inducing for me.  Plus, can't really escape mentally, so the brain turns to thoughts of hitting the eject button.

I went to UCSF for a cardiac MRI. After 90 minutes in the machine, they realized they weren't getting pictures of my spastic heart because I was in the wrong machine. So I had to do another 90, there and then, in the more powerful MRI machine, to get good images of my heart.
They somehow did, but as soon as I got out, I went into A-Flutter, which is like A-Fib but way worse. Before they finally got me back to 'normal', my BP has dropped to 40/10, and my heart rate was 310 beats per minute. Or another way to look at it, my heart was beating over 5 time per second.
When that happens, you really want to be in the hospital, because otherwise you very likely aren't surviving. I got lucky, very very lucky.

If you know in advance what's going to happen, why is it scary?  It's no different than watching fireworks or being at a monster truck rally.

2 MRIs here. The first was so horrifying that I told the doctor that I could only do it drugged to the eyeballs. The claustrophobia. The weird noises. The banging. The isolation. "I want the finest chemicals known to man and I want there here and I want them now. " So, they gave me what are apparently ordinary chemicals, prescribed double digit millions of times. Well, now, I thought. I could do a dozen MRIs today. Let's get banging.

Chemicals. Not LEGOs.

Used an open MRI for my knee, was not bad.  Had one done on my head for double vision and I fell asleep in it.  Old weak eye muscles were the cause of the double vision vs bad things in the head but they had to check.

Buddy who had brain cancer took a dose of valium before each MRI every few months.  RIP Kelso.

Yeah there looks like a couple unique bricks as well that might make it difficult to just put together otherwise.

It's a cool idea though and glad they're doing it

Even though they're not publishing the instructions for it, I expect one of the custom Lego sellers online to have a set that gets about 95% of it right pretty quick.

Yep I'm watching for it. Those light blues might end up a different color but most of it looks like they could reconstruct.

I had one recently.  I'm claustrophobic.   it wasn't too bad.  They covered my eyes at my request, and i never looked.  It felt like the machine was breathing.  I was more interested in the mechanics of it than scared.  Giant magnets?  Are they sucking on my organs?

Dont want to do it again though.  That cant be good for your body.
