It would actually be pretty funny if a Russian invasion of Ukraine lead to Russian puppet states like Belarus seizing the opportunity to break away from Vlad's iron grip.

No chance of that.  Lukashenko has his lips so hermetically sealed around Putin's taint even the Russian call girls have to just work around him.

That's what Pootie-Poot calls them, so I see no reason to argue, especially not with a 6'5" 350lb 'girl' with a foot-long beard and 13.2 Post Malones worth of tats.

Marching in the streets and shouting slogans won't stop what appears to be an imminent invasion.

Sabotage and illegal actions are the best options available.

Russia attacked our democracy in 2016. I would think that appropriate response would be to attack their form of government. A cyberwar against the oligarchs that support Putin could be effective. If his power base of kleptocrats start finding their fortunes under siege Putin may find himself falling down an elevator shaft onto a collection of large caliber bullets.

Putin seems to have an inflated ego about Russia after he was able to destabilize the US with TFG.

I have a feeling if he makes a move on Ukraine they will collapse harder than the USSR did, and 95% of the world will be against them.

I truly, 100% believe we're dealing with this right now

I keep seeing this on fark, that the oligarchs might get rid of Putin.

And replace him with who?

Nobody has made more money for Russian oligarchs than Vladimir Putin.  He's a known commodity.

Even if they could replace him with somebody they wanted AND make it look legitimate.....there's no guarantee how the guy performs or if he's really loyal to the oligarchs.

Replacing the head of state in Russia isn't as simple as replacing a janitor.

A cyberwar would be interesting because there has never been one before. There have been plenty of attacks, and ongoing hacking is always a thing, but no one knows how a state vs state cyberwar would play out. It's the equivalent of watching tanks being used in a full scale war for the first time. In particular, I'm interested in finding out which cyber attacks that look great in theory turn out to be duds in a real life war.

If this sophisticated
I think the 2015 Ukrainian Power grid hack by a Russian hacking group was just a test run. It was sophisticated and thorough but limited in scale. They cut off power to emergency control centers, and also farked up the emergency diesel generators. They bricked network components so replacements had to be installed, plus lots more. The Russians could scale that up and do a lot of damage.

However, Russia and Ukraine used to share a power grid, and still use the same hardware and software, so they are BOTH vulnerable to each other.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukraine_power_grid_hack#Vulnerabillity
Also the Azerbaijanis just crushed the Armenians last year largely due to use of drones.

Vlad might unleash the drones and hackers, while just nibbling with actual infantry.

This may be the 1st true 4G war. If war kicks off, I bet a lot of Ukrainians and Russians have no power this winter.

I'm currently playing War_Dogs (the original), and I wish I could hack the world with my smartphone like you do in that game.  Drain bank accounts, cause cop cars to crash, all sorts of fun.  Sure sounds like the West is planning on doing this to Russia in real life if things get all shooty.

Except how does this affect the commons? The previously unknown supply chain disruption could make things bad for them.

Sure, they may have a secret pole dancing room, but can they match the firepower of America's fully operational straight-pimpin' limo with stripper pole? After we haul it out of the crick I mean.
