"We had no idea that Democrats would vote too!"

I would love to hear one of those dipshiats try to articulate what exactly make it "unconstitutional."

Good.  The PA Supreme Court still abides by the law and will make this permanent.

Not going to happen.

Articulating is a liberal thing.  Conservatives whine.

You could have just said it has a democratic majority.  Both small d and big D.

I'm a no excuse mail in voter in PA.
They ask if you are not doing it in person for a variety of reasons.
None of which are
Covid, Monkeyfeathers, I don't want Covid.
or.
I'm in a farkign wheelchair, monkeyfeathers, and don't feel like hiring a parade manager to go and vote.
These sisterfarkin hillbillies have one agenda, and that is to rip people off.

Two agendas - to abuse other people in all kinds of ways at their whim, and not to be held accountable for doing so.

We don't require lawmakers to understand the law so this is completely possible. Both voting for an unconstitutional law and saying a law is unconstitutional when it's not.

Can I "laughter OL"  or is that still under Fark embargo?

I live 2 blocks from my polling place, voted by mail and will continue to do that.

I expect election truthers to now claim that this ruling voids Biden's victory in Pennsylvania and flips the state to Trump.

I will, in fact, be surprised if I do not see someone promoting the claim as "BREAKING", or "THIS IS A GAME CHANGER" or "MAJOR NEWS".

That's what happens when you elect people who have no principles - their behavior is unprincipled

Sounds like it's something in the PA state constitution (not the US constitution).

And the court agreed, unfortunately.

online registration and mail voting here in PA was super breezy. for both the primary and general, we actually dropped our ballots at polling stations rather than mailing (thanks, DeJoy) - and helped my elderly MIL to do the same.

so I can totally see why certain people wouldn't like that.

Wait, so if the election law they voted for is unconstitutional, then they are admitting to election fraud, yes?

You are 2/5th correct.

2022-01-28 3:41:23 PM
And had trump won, it would have been completely constitutional. shiat like this is why I have zero respect for our legal system. It's meaningless when the law can just be made up as they go along with the only requirement being that there's enough people who are willing to pretend it's ok. Also don't help that enforcement is generally dependent on the race or class of the offender.

Countdown to texts from my in laws stating how lazy democrats in Philadelphia who have never worked a day in their life somehow decided to stuff millions of ballots of dead people and get all the votes counted while the hard working patriots of the REAL Pennsyltucky stood in line like a real American to vote.

You should show your inlaws that Trump actually improved his performance in Philadelphia in 2020 versus 2016.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia#Politics

It was the suburbs surrounding Philly that doomed him. Same thing across the country. But Trump isn't going to blame white suburbanites for their failure in 2020.

Absolute BS ruling by the Commonwealth Court. The Pennsylvania constitution Article VII Section 14 obligates the legislature to provide means for absentee voting for specifically identified reasons, but does not restrict them from providing absentee voting to any wider categories.

The Constitution gives a minimum requirement, not a maximum limit, on absentee ballot access.

Good to know.  I am not familiar with PA's state constitution so I can't even make a guess.  Hopefully it will be overturned on appeal.

Still doesn't change the fact Biden won in 2020.

Some in the GOP still can't accept that fact it seems.

Some conservatives in the state turned against the law after President Joe Biden won Pennsylvania, claiming the expanded access to mail ballots cost former President Donald Trump the state.
