I can't be the only one who read that as "The Schwab."

Once Bob Ley retired, that was the beginning of ESPN's actual journalists calling it a day. There is no more room for in-depth reporting on ESPN anymore.

There was a good article about Rodgers the other day.

Is Ed Werder still properly chained to the sign at the entrance to the Cowboys facility?

Bob Ley.  Ha.  whenever I see his name, i remember that sunday morning, "ESPN's hard news" show.  He had Mark Cuban on, and the story was how some sports journalists got in touch with Cuban's wife, and asked her about how the Mavs, she responded.  Cuban was upset, and that was why he was on the show.

Ley:  "But, Mark, you are a public figure, and you're on TV all the time.  She is your wife;  isn't she fair game for comment?"

Cuban said no but Ley pressed on.  Cuban insisted he was the face of the franchise and any team comment should come from him.  Ley continued on. Cuban held ground.

Cuban:  "OK, Bob.  How' your wife, Susan?  Is she still working for the XYZ firm?

Ley:  "HOLD ON, HOLD ON, MARK, THAT'S NOT RIGHT!"

"Mark, we're on TV, so we're public figures, and she's your wife.  Is she any less 'fair game' than my wife?"

They cut to commercial.  Cuban destroyed Bob Ley in 20 seconds.
