I don't think I'd need to tell people - the news story about the fire department being called to pry me off of her would probably suffice.

FTFA:

"The flick, which brought in over $150 million at the box office, may have been able to squeak past the gajillion mark if these sex scenes between Gaga and Hayek had not been relegated to the cutting room floor. But rest assured, it happened according to the singer, and she's all for it getting the 'Director's Cut' treatment."

Who da' fuq' thinks, "We need to cut something" and says, "Yeah, let's cut the sex scene between Lady Gaga and Salma Hayek" ???

While Germanotta is incredibly talented as a singer and performer... one of the skills she has that is probably not a line on her resume is "Attention Whore".  She's really good at that.  Or maybe it falls under "performer".

Anyway, we probably wouldn't know about her singing talents if she hadn't marketed them so well with the attention whoring.

Anyone who names themselves "Lady Gaga" is obviously an attention whore. I never actually even heard any of her stuff. Doesn't mean I don't want to see her making out with Salma.

Oh my goodness! That SOOOO outrageous!

I wonder how interesting people would find her without the crazy enormous hats, meat dresses and constant forced reminders to the public how razor-sharp edgy her lifestyle is. Like a singer-songwriter going by her real name, and simply relying on talent.

She was excellent in A Star is Born and yes, she can act. In fact, I prefer that version over the self-indulgent one with Streisand and Kristofferson. That one was tortuous to watch. And, of course, when her voice is left unaltered, the woman can sing, by the gods!

It feels weird to go out of your way to refer to her by her legal name that no one refers to her by. It's like you're trying way too hard to be above such things.

So you're bragging about never having heard one of the most played/listened to singers of the past few decades?  Okay.  There's nothing wrong with not listening to pop music.  Classical or Country or Armenian Folk music, or whatever you listen to instead is probably totally cool.  But bragging about it is snobbery of the highest order.

The stage name is undeniably silly.  But so is Engelbert Humperdinck.  Bono. The Edge. Sting. will.i.am. Flo Rida.  Diddy. Meat Loaf. Snoop Doggy Dogg.  And many more.  She's got tons of company.  I'm curious if they're equally as scorned and dismissed as "attention whores"?  Maybe.  I don't know what's in your head, after all.

I'm not bragging about anything. If anything, I'm admitting to being out of touch. I never listened to pop music, that doesn't make it bad.

I mean it probably usually is but I'm not judging Ms. Gaga.

I don't like stage names, I find them exceptionally stupid if they get weird.  Simplify so your fans can spell it or pronounce it, fine.  Adopt a name that sells better in your market, sure.  But "Lady Gaga"?  That's just crap.  I may respect her talent, doesn't mean I respect the marketing of it.

See too!, But upon further review...

According to wiki his real name was Arnold George Dorsey, nee "Gerry" Dorsey, whose friend Gordon Mills, "...suggested a name-change to the more arresting Engelbert Humperdinck, borrowed from the 19th-century German composer of operas such as Hansel and Gretel."

Hare to believe someone thought "Engelbert Humperdinck" was a better stage name than practically ANY other random name, or randomly connected syllables, or random sounds made with your voice, but apparently it worked....

/the more you know...
