I just want to watch Trump and DeSantis ratfark each other.  I'm not well.

No problem, Trump can be DeSantis VP

2022-01-28 6:04:06 AM
If the DNC runs Biden again in 2024...

Who they going to pick? It's going to be a corporatist, no doubt about that.

Another milquetoast vs. whatever raving loony the GOP gets...

Thinking DeSantis. He's a lot smoother, but Trump has the cult base. Makes me wonder if DeSantis might have dirt on Trump, or be working on it.

Can't imagine why it would matter. Toms of dirt on Trump has been released from various sources. An unfortunate number of people ether believe it's "fake news" or don't give a damn.

Only way DeSantis gets the nomination over Trump is if the latter is dead or in jail.

Could you pass the poll? I need to wipe my ass.

Admittedly polls at this early are not the greatest as so much can and will happen in nearly three years. But most of the time such polle involves candidates the public is largely unfamiliar with. So it is good news as it shows that less people are forgiving Dolt45 than I would have feared. So maybe the GOP really will have to cheat.

I'm just noticing that, by and large, the only people I see wearing neckties in the US these days are politicians. Doctors stopped wearing them even before COVID because the length of fabric is essentially a Petri dish.  There are some old school finance guys, but even many of them haven't broken out their collar pins for some time.

2022-01-28 6:27:39 AM
That's because Biden's poll numbers are so good right now. Oh wait.

2022-01-28 6:33:49 AM
That assumes that the voting and electors aren't a giant shiatshow.  It's going to be a giant shiatshow.

Way too much information, dude. You could've just said "fake news" and we all would've known to put you on ignore to improve Fark.

But nobody polled the new "Official Ballot Certification Official" just elected with a massive landslide in an election with 11% turnout. He's got some bold new ideas of how every vote for Biden is a ChiCom Soros fraud and he's going to Make America Great Again.

Just ask his nephew, the GOP state senator who'll confirm the electors.

It's almost a guarantee that the Democrat will win the popular vote in any election going forward. Without state by state results, this is worthless. Doubly so when you have 25% of respondents undecided or claiming they'll vote third party. Impossible to draw any meaningful conclusion here at all.

2022-01-28 6:51:13 AM
Not that shocking really.

More like people realize Biden is not perfect (no one is) but he is better than Trump.

It's actually quite positive and should be expected.

Actually VOTERS decide.

And black voters made Biden the nominee.

With everything Trump has done, he will be allowed to run again?

This is one farked up nation.

The Brains: If the DNC runs Biden again in 2024...

You do know that he won last time... handily. And that he's actually President of the United States right now, which means it's pretty much up to him and not "the DNC."

Or is this satire? Tell me this is satire.

2022-01-28 7:03:34 AM
This is why I couldn't care less about Biden's current approval numbers. They're salted with cranky far-leftists upset he hasn't imprisoned the opposition and nationalized everything from healthcare to the taco truck industry.

When it comes to the actual sort of choice we end up making in a voting booth in 2024 people nationwide are already far happier with Biden than they were with Trump.

2022-01-28 7:04:35 AM
Yeah, I don't think that this is the good news Biden supporters are looking for.
Whoops, sorry didn't mean to be an Eeyore, I mean "yay" 41% to 33%.

Polls have gotten less and less reliable over recent years.

The completely inadequate call for justice from the right over 1/6 shows that everything is still deadlocked at best. Polls that claim otherwise are meaningless until we see an observable shift away from the death cult mentality.

2022-01-28 7:09:06 AM
Wow the media is allowing the thought that Biden might be preferable to a human grease smear as President? Something's not right.

Well, "innocent until proven guilty" is a pretty good thing. And, yeah, no charges yet, but maybe someday. I'm pretty sure certain convictions preclude someone from holding office. Failing that, it is up to the voters.

/we're doomed

Trump lost last time (and the time before, really). What in his situation has improved to make anyone think he'd win next time?

DeSantis is actually more dangerous anyway.

Why Unlikely tag, subby?

Trump might be reinstalled as president, but he isn't going to win an election. You can only poll for the latter.

You should be less sure, because they don't.

The only thing that would have done that failed to do so last year.

Your support for the administration is conditioned upon their polling numbers?

The polls also predicted we'd be in Hillary's second term by now, so...

Except he didn't win "handily". Yes, he received many more popular votes, mostly in already blue states. It took a lot of real squeakers in a number of swing states to get him the electoral vote win, and it's the electoral votes that are most in jeopardy in 2024 due to Republican ratfarkery in the very same states where the elections were squeakers in 2020.

The majority of Republicans in Congress (especially Yertle), as well as the Republican National Committee, definitely do NOT want Trump back in office. If the RNC had had its way, he would never have gotten the nomination the first time around. Which only shows how little control the national GOP apparat has over the fanatical rank and file.

A lot of the GOP professionals would be happy enough with De Santis, who is both more intelligent and far more politically astute than Trump -- and that also makes him potentially more dangerous. In the newest polls I've seen, De Santis does several points better against Biden than Trump does, because most of the Never-Trumpers will accept him.

But the primary season for the General Election is more than a year away and that's like a thousand years in political time, and a lot can happen before then.

Interesting. So, you won't bother until everyone else does as well.

This is a fascinating approach with the fascists at the gate.

It really bothers you that 84 million people wanted Joe Biden to be POTUS, doesn't it?

So you agree Biden is only polling 8% better than the fascists.
I think the question is, what could he be doing better to win non-fascists against the fascists?
