Don't worry Republicans will fix that once they get the majority back.  Wouldn't want those undeserving people getting used to things like having healthcare, and the government making their lives better.

And Fix News will be telling their viewers how much every single newly insured person is costing the tax payers.  Need to cut those subsidies out right damn now, before THOSE people start thinking they deserve or are entitled to help.

HA! This just proves that "Obamacare" is a loser and America is sick of it. Only fifteen million Ameicans signed up for it.  The last time I checked America had over THREE HUNDRED MILLION people.

The fact that the evil demoncrats would make this much fuss over half a percent of the total population just proves how out of touch they are.

I'm other news, 15 million Americans signed up for "insurance" that will cover exactly one Tylenol (marked up to $100/pill) when they finally get their $195,000 hospital bills.

Bro, why would you want universal healthcare paid for with a reasonable tax, when instead you can pay more in premiums, plus potentially up to $8500 additional dollars in deductible and coinsurance.

I'm pretty much convinced my brother has been cheating on his taxes for years (his company was too lazy to pay his commissions through payroll until last year) and so he has been enjoying Medicaid despite being on a pretty nice salary.

Everything "counted" correctly in 2021 so he thought he was going to have to move to an ACA plan for 2022. Lucky for him, the stimulus from earlier in the year said that a change in salary wouldn't impact your Medicaid eligibility, so a guy making $50k a year is going to get another year of "free stuff" because that's the American way. It feels petty to be jealous of someone on Medicaid, but I was paying $27k per year in health insurance at my last job...

Speaking of free stuff, did you see that for the 2020 tax year, 61% of households paid no federal income tax? Romney's 47% comments from 2012 feel quaint now - "Ha, more than half of people contributing to the public chest? How droll!"

No arguments from me. Tax everyone equally for it instead of making actual (federal) taxpayers subsidize it.

You know, for as much as Trump and company tried to kill Obamacare, they didn't try very hard. Right when enrollment starts, through January 15th, you get at least 1 email a day from Healthcare.gov reminding you to sign up. Sometimes 2 a day I believe. And they don't stop after signing up.

If I wanted to lower enrollment, I'd stop the reminders.

Health Insurance isn't health care.

Also ,Trump care non-insurance scams are still allowed to be marketed to Americans one year after a new President.
How many of those scams are in these inflated number due to a fear of the pandemic?

Maybe you should call up your representatives, because you're already paying for healthcare if you pay taxes. You could complain about how you're paying for a dozen medical programs (Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, Indian Health Service, and several more) that they don't let you use.

Rather than complaining other people are getting "free shiat" you should be more worried about what you're paying for but NOT getting.

I tried to sign up before the deadline. The cheapest plan was $435 a month with an $8500 deductible. While that might have been influenced by my answering yes to the "smoked nicotine within the last 6 months" question, that is still a ridiculous monthly premium. So, I guess it's trying to quit smoking again (for like the 10th time) and see how it goes in the fall (if they open up enrollment again by then).

That's not a comment on taxation you think it is. There's an income threshold below which the fed cut people a break, figuring what little they have would be better spent on shat like rent and food and clothing.
What that percentage who "don't pay federal tax" points to is how many people are THAT F'KING POOR that they qualify for that break.

That is disturbing.
