No idea what those questions have to do with Avanetti's conduct. I don't care if she thinks she's the reincarnation of Cleopatra. If he stole her money, he deserves to be punished.

Where am I to go, now that I've gone too far?

I hate when it's implied that people deserve to have crimes committed against them because they don't fit the asshole criminal's definition of normal.

Juries often decide this. If the jury hates the victim more than they hate the defendant, they sometimes acquit.

He's trying to show she's an unreliable witness.

Which doesn't matter because the communication was actually written down and the Jury can see the comms themselves. In particular, he plainly lied in some of them by saying he'd "find out" why she hadn't gotten a check from the publisher yet when he had in fact already deposited the checks.

Remember when people were actually suggesting this man run for president because his tweets made TFG mad? I mean, probably not that weird when you consider that you could probably look at news/trending Twitter for any week between 1/20/2017 and 1/20/2021 and it would read like Biff stole the f*cking sports almanac and gave it to himself in the past

I was waiting for the question, "Did the doll provide, or comment on, any of the evidence you submitted to the court?" maybe followed by, "Any court, ever?" but for some strange reason it never got asked. :P

Like, since even the judge didn't ask, it read more like satire than reporting. Is it satire? I can't tell with stories related to to DJT and courts, anymore.

That's why this tactic needs to go!

Racism is what has protected it.
Often it's implied that a Black victim deserved to be murdered because he sold a cigarette, was running and therefore suspicious, had a disorderly vehicle or some other absolutely irrelevant baloney.

Since talking to angels and Jesus is culturally acceptable, then Stormy Daniels talking to dolls is harmless and still irrelevant to Avenatti's crimes.

The flip side is jury nullification. The last trial I was on for jury duty was one I was going to acquit because I didn't like what the police had done. Unfortunately for the defendant, I was the alternate juror and did not get to deliberate.

In a conversation about how perpetrators of violence against black people are often let off the hook because of an obscenely racist predilection towards seeing blackness as inherently violent/dangerous, I think it's important to let the audience know how vociferous and intractable you were in your defense of George Zimmerman and your insistence that he had committed no crimes in the murder of Trayvon Martin.

It's a part of her new gig  She does some web show or something called "Spooky Babes" that is kinda sorta a Ghostbusters schtick.  She actually moved into a deconsecrated church two doors down from me that is sort of her home/home base for her gig, so I see her all the time.

She's really sweet and down to earth, and the rest of her crew are a bunch of super polite goth kids.

Anyway I am pretty sure it's all an act.  So yeah, this is pretty stupid for him to harp on.

In fairness to Stormy, she has probably hit her head hard on a lot of headboards.  I don't know what happened to Avenatti.  Maybe it was just law school.

He's trying to build A defense by questioning her character and stability as a witness against him. It's a valid strategy that any lawyer would push if they were the defense attorney but it doesn't make him any less guilty or and less of an asshole.

When did the doll tell you to fark TFG?

If a doll suggested something like that, it would go in to the volcano on the big island.

[shrug]

It's a perfectly acceptable legal tactic when questioning a hostile witness. If you don't like the process, don't watch it.

If, as people say, there is hard evidence that Avenatti defrauded his client, then painting her as unreliable will not help him.

Unless.

His claim is that they had a verbal agreement that superceded the written documents and he's got something that proves that.

He's a rotten human being, but he's a good lawyer. If he's following this line of attack, he's got a reason for it.
