Seriously. This was well addressed in S1 leading up to why he removes his helmet, including when they met Fett.

The kooky crazed nuts were the last to know.

Is it the end, though?

Because it really seems like they gave him a mission.

It was great when Bo Katan just said something to the effect of, "Oh, you're one of those..."

How do I atone?
Go to some natural spings on Mandalore.
Mandalore Kaploowie!
Sucks to be you.

That mission?

What are they getting at that DarkSaber-wielding-legend was both Jedi and Manadorian?  That he was skilled in ways to kill people with technology and nature?

Maybe it's just me, but I find the Bo-Katan's Night Owls combat style to be more effective than the The Watch's. They seem more mobile.

The mines are kaploowie, and the planet is inhospitable, but it is certainly still accessible given their available technology, with effort.

Honestly, I think they were forecasting, given the other events of the episode, that Grogu is meant to have the Darksaber.

So Grogu is going to defeat Mando in combat; or Mando is going to get defeated and Grogu is going to avenge him, taking the darksaber.

And all of this occurs long before episode 7.  So, something terrible happens to Grogu, otherwise Luke wouldn't have been so dejected about Darth Adam Driver.

Something tells me the sequels are going to be quietly yet firmly swept aside.

Yes to the second, and I agree. Unless Grogu goes into exile and hides or another thirty years, he's in for some rough times.

The Mandalorian was kick-ass from the first episode.

I really want to like Boba Fett, but it's like a Mandolorian (but not Mando) flying around in a jump pack, spinning about, doing tricks and yelling 'yahoo!' a lot. Right now we are watching to see IF he can make a super hero landing and say "fark Ya! I'm Boba biatches!" or if he is going to land on his head followed by a sad trombone.

They originally introduced the legend of the Darksaber in Rebels.  The dude who made it was the first Mandalorian to be taken in by the Order and become a Jedi.

I think the more likely reason is that Grogu hadn't been created/revealed at the time they were finishing up the sequel trilogy.

BoBF has been 'okay' for me. I didn't have any investment in that character before the show started, and have gotten a little bit since then. Maybe that's why I'm not enjoying it that much; I didn't read any of the expanded universe stuff and only played a little of the video games and the D20/DND3.5 tabletop game. I know they're trying to flesh out the character more so that we understand his motivations and all that stuff. I also know that it is a more contemplative and slower paced show; it's not like Mando was paced at break-neck speed or the like.

Plus I think they're wasting Ming-Na Wen; honestly I see very little difference between this character and Agent May from S.H.I.E.L.D.. The characters have the same agenda, mannerisms and general characterization. This character is somehow less emotional than early Agent May; and that seems to be the point... an assassin should be able to suppress their emotions. If there's something I'm missing, then please tell me.

Disney really should consider:

1. Relegating the sequels to Legends status. Really, who's going to have a problem with that? In the end they ended up pissing everybodyoff, they won't be missed.

Or

2. If they wont let go of the sequels, have the Grogu/Mandalorian/Ashoka/Thrawn story take place in the Unknown Regions. It would make for new settings, tech, ships etc. Also gives it breathing room away from whatever idiocy is going on between the New Republic and the First Order. Everything can then be tied together further up the timeline.

Imagine Grogu and Ezra trained Jedi (and the requisite fallen to the Dark Side former students) doing their thing in Chiss territory, they have to work with their analogues from Rey's Academy to confront a new threat from outside the galaxy (the Vong maybe).

Yeah - It would give a path forward to Rey as well. I'd like to see something like that. Flawed as the sequels are, I believe there are more stories that can be told from them.

we've already seen an IG-88 type assassin droid in one of these series. If they want to stay somewhat with the EU, they'd bring back Dengar

Yes also mentioned a Mythasaur in a prophecy. He needs to go into a beskar mine and bath in the waters within and also bring back a Mythasaur while he is at it. All of which are impossible feats so it's going to take him an entire season to pull it off.

I hate that they have Mando in a ship from Episode one and used the term 'wizard' because I don't want the stench of the prequel trilogy on any of him and I loved his old ship.

Plus I'm pissed because they made the Jedi starfighter look cool and I know I'll be buying that farking LEGO too goddamnit

When I saw the covering over the engines, I really thought they were going to pull a bullshiat "Yea I found these two engines on an old podracer that belonged to the youngest racer to ever win!"

Glad they didn't.

And I will assume BD is the same BD-1 from Fallen Order because I loved that little droid. I also fully expected BD to hop in with Mando and ride in the spare pod. He obviously displayed some affection for the little droid.

I hope we see more of Ezra before something like that happens.

He's the same age as Luke and Leia (technically a day or two older). He'd be an old fart in the time of a Rey-led Jedi academy. I want to see him at his prime, like Luke slicing through the Darktroopers.

Also, I think it's complete bullshiat that Mando has a higher killcount (and far more brutal) in the first 5 minutes of his episode than Boba does through the 4 previous episodes. Din literally cuts the bounty in half because he was pissed off. And then walks around with his head for a while. That's badass.

Buddy Fett is too goddamn nice.

I think Mando's kill count is only going to increase.

If he's really switching from a patrol ship to a starfighter as his means of transport, "I can take you in warm" isn't really an option.

I'm pretty sure it is, there was some line the mechanic was saying about it that made it seem likely.

I guess I should be glad they're literally improving on stuff from those movies to that they're cool now.

Or wizard I guess
