They were going to name a whole province after me? How nice.
2002-02-21 12:23:22 AM
hehe... maybe if they had a web poll we could name it Wil Wheaton.
2002-02-21 12:26:14 AM
That's because they can't spell it backwards...
2002-02-21 12:26:20 AM
Canada's political system ought to be based off of web polls. Walken would make an excellent Emperor.
2002-02-21 12:26:57 AM
New Farkistan.
2002-02-21 12:27:19 AM
I always wanted to name one of my children "Machete" or "Cyclone," but I think I could let Canada borrow the names for a province.
2002-02-21 12:27:45 AM
or better yet, Dismal farking Frozen Wasteland.
2002-02-21 12:28:43 AM
That crazy Bob. He knows only 3 people live in Northwest Territories with him and thought he could pull it off!
2002-02-21 12:28:51 AM
Well hell!
2002-02-21 12:29:09 AM
Microsoft just won't quit.

How about Kevin Bacon?
You can play how many degrees from Kevin Bacon game.
Sell official Kevin Canadian Bacon to tourists.
2002-02-21 12:32:24 AM
theres diamonds in N.w.T, and the northernmost settlement in the world. to the west however, is a whole lot of farking nothing, i think theres like 800 people in that territory.
2002-02-21 12:32:39 AM
If they renamed it to Bob, I'd move there.
2002-02-21 12:32:52 AM
They should call it Dave. Everything should be called Dave.

This world gets weirder and weirder, I just found out that in order to be a JP judge in Arizona, you only have to be 1)18 years old, 2)A US citizen, & 3)An AZ resident... you don't need to be an attorney or have ANY training what-so-ever.... I'm thinking the Honorable MY2... relating back to this article, maybe the NW Territories has the same asinine requirements.....
2002-02-21 12:37:09 AM
I would tell an amusing story here about bad naming practices, but I really don't feel like it. I'm tired, and debating whether or not my trust has been betrayed.

Anyway, the amusing anecdote would go right about here. You can still laugh if you want to.
2002-02-21 12:37:13 AM
OH, and I almost forgot...and it's too perfect to pass up:

A grasshopper walks into a bar, and the bartender says,
"Hey! We have a drink named after you" and the grasshopper says, "You have a drink named BOB?"
2002-02-21 12:37:20 AM
How about renaming it to Terrance and Phillip?
2002-02-21 12:38:39 AM
I knew Bob. Bob was a friend of mine. And, Fark, Bob was no Canadian province.
2002-02-21 12:38:58 AM

Quite a few states have the same requirements for JP.
Scary huh...
2002-02-21 12:39:20 AM
I love being named Bob. First Douglas Adams names a deity after me and now this!
2002-02-21 12:41:54 AM
What a loss. Bob would have been such a fine name.
2002-02-21 12:44:11 AM
A grasshopper walks into a bar, and the bartender says,
"Hey! We have a drink named after you" and the grasshopper says, "You have a drink named BOB?"

2002-02-21 12:45:34 AM
What about Tony? I've always liked that one. Eddie would work too.
2002-02-21 12:51:04 AM
no slack for canada.. damn.
2002-02-21 12:53:25 AM
i think we should invade the northwest territories in the name of jesus christ and the war on terrorism. then we should name it Bob; we'll show them how to run a democracy.
2002-02-21 01:11:57 AM
I'm suddenly reminded of a Lewis Black skit:

"Bob -- he's an insurance salesman from Topeka, KS. You meet Bob while you're sitting at an airport watching The Weather Channel. Bob buys you a few drinks and you think to yourself: 'Hey Bob's not a bad guy.' Then when Bob tries to sell your insurance, you have to say: 'fark you Bob!' That is a Bob..."

Laughing at AllYourBase way to gain points and lose them in the same thread! ahahaha
2002-02-21 01:24:04 AM
Damn, they got deleted. Really laughing now :)

BOB, the street next to mine is named BOB AVE :)

Bob would've been proud.
2002-02-21 01:30:46 AM
OK, I better be careful
2002-02-21 01:30:51 AM
And now part of it is back. Is there a mod war going on that we should be aware of?

2002-02-21 01:40:56 AM
Ahh, those kooky Canadians.
2002-02-21 01:41:01 AM
I might not be too smart but what does a JP judge do. I mean what does the JP stand for?
2002-02-21 01:42:54 AM
If you click on the link there's a story about a severed penis being found in a carwash. Suprised it's not on Fark. I would submit it but I am too lazy.
2002-02-21 01:43:58 AM
Justice of the Peace=JP
2002-02-21 01:45:02 AM
One more thought, The Dimanodbacks stadium is already named after Bob.
2002-02-21 01:46:18 AM
What link Porn?

***note to self, don't throw ex's penis in car wash next time***
2002-02-21 01:47:38 AM
Yea, I thought of that too Porn, and more people probably go there in one night than go to the NWT in a year
2002-02-21 01:50:10 AM
It's on the right side of the page this link goes too. There's all sorts of stuff there, some I have seen on Fark. So how does a Justice of Peace judge differ from a regular judge?
2002-02-21 02:16:07 AM
I don't really like Asu. My friend is the team manager, he was going to be pissed if ASU won because he wants to go to Vegas for spring break. If ASU won there was a good chance he would have to go to the NIT. Oh, yeah his name is Bob.
2002-02-21 02:18:54 AM
My bad, forgot you can't do this. Nothing to see here carry on.
Bob's your uncle.
2002-02-21 02:34:08 AM
Considering that the population of NWT is less than 41,000 why not just call it Uninhabited.
2002-02-21 02:38:39 AM
I come from the land of Bob....

That just doesn't sound right.
2002-02-21 02:39:00 AM
The Northwest Territories is no province! It's a territory. Am I the only Farker from the NT?
2002-02-21 02:45:55 AM
Am I the only Farker from the NT?

You're practically the only person in the NWT
2002-02-21 02:59:38 AM
I'm actually not there right now. And we're trying to leave out the W. That's so late nineties. This is pretty old news, but I guess you guys didn't hear about it the first time around. I think one of the deciding factors against Bob was that the shortening of our name would be BO.
2002-02-21 03:46:10 AM
In the Netherlands and Belgium 'Bob' is an acronym for the person who doesn't drink, so (s)he can drive (Bewust onbeschonken bestuurder). Like in 'Who's going to be the Bob tonight?'
