FTFA     Having been in your office and seeing the sort of fine-toothed comb with which you go through charges, I do wonder if in this case there's a higher standard. It's unprecedented to investigate a former President for possible crimes. So, will there be a finer-toothed comb applied?

I mean, you've seen my comb. It's been effective for over 25 years now. And I will pull it out once again.

Yes, you want to make sure all your I's are dotted and all your T's are crossed, but this isn't that complicated of a case. It's not like they're genius criminal masterminds. They're just plain criminals.

This will be interesting. I'm predicting the point of the subpoena power will be to highlight the lack of evidence on which Trump based his claims in the phone call. There just won't be any. He was full of shiat, ran away whenever Raffensperger tried to lock him down on any specifics to the point where Raffensperger had clearly decided Trump was full of shiat about five minutes into the hour long call, and was clearly just making stuff up.

You can't subpoena what isn't there, but you can demonstrate what a useless cretin Trump is even if you can't get a conviction. Trump tried to interfere, so in that sense there was political interference, but it was petulant whining kinda interference and certainly not high-level conspiratorial negotiation.

Doesn't matter what happens, people's perceptions what of is acceptable is warped.  So you legally nailed Trump while you have propaganda outlets feeding his praises 24/7 indefinitely until the next big grifter comes along.

Last week, Willis asked for a special grand jury to continue an investigation of what she described as a "reasonable probability" of "possible criminal disruptions" of the 2020 presidential election.

And to think all it took was indisputable evidence, admitted motive, dozens of witnesses, and 15 months of connecting three dots to get us to reasonable and probable.

Again, he's a malignant narcissist.  Everything he does sets the gold standard of perfection in his own mind hence why "perfect" is one of his go-to adjectives.

Just like the perennial optimist crowd  and perennial pessimist crowd have their own preferred adjectives when discussing the potential dispositions of the many lawsuits against and investigations into the malignant narcissist.

Has anyone seen the Peacock series, "Dr. Death?"  I kept thinking that was Donald Trump as a neurosurgeon - completely incompetent but he thinks he's the best in the world.  Bad outcomes were always someone else's fault.

What is it with this farkin' "Eeyore" junk?

Donald Trump has crimed and crimed and crimed for decades before he slithered into the White House.

When in the White House he openly and publicly defied the law, skating through two impeachments.

There is not a single example of an ex-president facing criminal justice in this nation's history. Nixon and Reagan golfers til they dropped.

Optimism is a philosophical approach to life, as such it is still tethered to observable reality.

If the observable reality over decades is that Trump is a criminal and scofflaw, without ever facing consequences then it would follow that the burden of the argument that he's finally going to face consequences shouldn't fall on the "nothings gonna happen" folks, but instead the Pollyanish position that Trump will face consequences at long last.

We would ALL love to see Trump in an orange jumpsuit, it's just given how much he's gotten away with the chances seem slim.

"Because what I'm going to do is a full investigation, and this is the process that's required."

Re-read that quote every time you wonder why the process takes longer than 42 minutes. Some of y'all may want to get it tattooed on your forearm for easy reference.

There has been some public commentary about what the former President might have been trying to do on that call. Is there any, for instance, expectation that the special-purpose grand jury or your staff will need to obtain records from the [Congressional] committees investigating the events of Jan. 6?

I'm going to actually leave that on the floor.

Okay. I guess I'll ask why, in this case, that's a question that you feel shouldn't be answered.

I think you should call us back in a week. I think that's a different story.

That's an interesting exchange.

I read it as "I'm being detail oriented, and protecting my information until it's time to unleash the hounds.  Also we're cooperating with a larger investigation and I am not allowed to talk about that for the aforementioned reasons"

Do you want Trump to be criminally indicted or not? She explained very clearly why a special grand jury is needed, how they're scheduled in Fulton County, and what she needs to get her indictment.

All you armchair ANGH Eeyores seem to think that having X, Z, and B are enough as long as Y and A are out there somewhere. In a civil case, it might be. But in a criminal case it is not, and especially with inchoate crimes where inferences have to be drawn anyway.

In a criminal case, missing evidence is called "grounds for dismissal", so if you've got that missing evidence, I'm sure she'd like having it. Otherwise, do hush.

Yes, it normally takes over a year to seat a grand jury for a case where we already have smoking-gun evidence of a crime. This is all very normal and justice is about to happen any minute now. Just ask us again next week, so we can tell you to ask us again in another week, and then another, and then another...
