Snark aside, I hope he recovers fully. That sounds gruesome.

Spinal injury?

Could've been a freak gardening accident.

edmo: That bus...

The dent is wild. He's a tiny guy riding what was probably an ultra light carbon bike - he must have been going at just unreal speed to do that to the bus.

I hope he walks again without being in constant pain

I have followed the Tour de France the last couple of years. That guy is a marvel, along with the other riders. Over 2,000 mile in a few weeks in the cold, rain and heat, uphill, and the scariest part, downhill.

I hope he recovers enough to walk but being able to race again at that level would seem to be almost impossible.

Damn, I've seen cars do less damage to a bus than his body did. He's lucky to be alive.

Don't worry. Colombia's got this.

I got a high achieving bicycle racer through his critical care phase after he hit a parked car.  The poor guy survived and is probably driving a wheelchair with his chin....quadraplegic and all that.  It seems that cyclists sometimes ride with their heads down and not watching where they are going.  Don't do that.

Clicked into the article and was genuinely shocked at the dent he left in the bus.

I broke my face on the back window of a Bug one day in HS when I was watching a pretty girl instead of where I was going. Luckily I was moving at a walking pace.

Poor guy. I watched the end of the Tour de France one year in Paris. It was awe-inspiring how fast they were going. Hitting anything at that speed on a bike, you'd not be surprised if they suffered horrific injuries.

And car accident victims don't have those dorky shorts and helmet.

There should be mirrors for that. The cyclist can put their head down for maximum aerodynamics and look at the mirrors which angled so they reflect what's in front of them.

How the fark do you not see a bus???  The single largest vehicle on the road!

This is Darwin Award territory.

I have the same beef with sportbike bros.  Speeding outrageously is for the track only.  This douchebag could've killed people.
