FTA: "... some guests who object to the Museum's mask policy have been inappropriately directing their anger toward our staff."

It would've been more appropriate to direct it at the children.

St. Charles [Illinois] Public Library Remains Closed Following Threats - A near altercation regarding the library's masking policy happened Thursday. The library is currently not allowing in-person visits.
"The St. Charles Public Library remains closed after two visitors got into a near altercation on Thursday after a spat over the library's masking policy. Library officials say they fielded threatening calls and emails following the incident, as well as threats over social media, and have seen an increase in incidents and refusal by patrons to follow their masking policies"

Shiathole people. I don't feel bad about wishing they could all die from Covid.

The sad thing is they're probably bragging to their friends and families about triggering the libs. A significant percentage of these people seem to be angry about the state of their lives and instead of trying to raise themselves up it just seems easier for them to try to bring everyone down to their level, especially people who don't believe 100% the same that they do. Remember the Trump voter that was pissed at Trump because he wasn't hurting the people that they wanted him to hurt? These are those types of people.

I'm confused by this.

NBA: tests every day

Actors and staff had to get tested everyday before Emmys.

Are you advocating for taxing NBA players and owners more so we can afford testing everyday for kids?

Or are you saying that we should fark up the funding for schools by making the kids test every day?

Otherwise you're comparing apples to oranges and aren't really making the statement you think you're making.

If it's option 1, I'm all for it.  Let's make schools better for kids by increasing taxes on the rich and improving children's lives.

For the record, I think all three things should be shut the fark down. The Emmys and schooling can be done virtually, and the NBA can just deal with it.

Oh, I agree.  I'm just baiting the OP.  They're failing to see the only thing they've proven is the efficacy of a strict testing and isolation regime.

And that we should put better funding to schools so they can do the same... and then keep it up post covid so that they can put money towards children.

Some school can be "done virtually", whatever that means. It assumes an endless capability to house and supervise these children and supervise their attendance at virtual classes while their parents, in many cases, both work full time jobs. I have young kids and my wife is an early ed teacher. You really can't do early elementary education in a virtual setting. You can tread water, but the kids don't get nearly the contact with the teacher that they do in a classroom environment. They can't even hear beach other. Dogs are barking, parents are working in the background. It's completely, 100% unacceptable as a long term solution and it doubles down on a class disparity that the pandemic is already exacerbating.

On the other hand, one of my kids is below vaccination age. And Mom is still feeling the neurological effects of Long COVID months after a breakthrough infection. And my mother in law is immune compromised in several ways, and the only grandparent accessible to my kids. So I'm constantly balancing risk vs critical years for my kids to start their relationship with education and their peers. These poor kids will live in a world that will be extremely different than the one I grew up in.

/I ageee on the Emmy's and the basketball. But I am also a basketball fan. The games at least give me some joy and suspense in my life that is not related to my kids :). It's all farked. We all owe each other a hug and a nod for getting through it.

Eddie Barzoom:

These poor kids will live in a world that will be extremely different than the one I grew up in.

Being able to make friends and socialise virtually has been around since the mid-90's, and has become increasingly accessible with the popularization of smartphones over the last 15-20 years.  The world you grew up in hasn't existed for nearly two decades now, and the kids you feel sorry for aren't going to have any issue in adapting to the world as it exists today because the elder members of their generation already mastered it.

Stop putting your hang ups about technology on kids.  The kids will be fine.

Locally they have attacked a library (literally issuing death threats to the librarians), a child's museum, and a gym.

I expect they will be once again present at the local Off-Broadway theater as well once the next show starts up.

Even if they don't die, the Finding Out from severe cases can be horrible. How much "freedom" are they going to have when they're tethered to an oxygen bottle? Imagine getting absolutely winded from getting up off the sofa to go the bathroom, or never again tasting the food you eat, or losing limbs, because you believed complete bullshiat and wouldn't get vaccinated.

It's bad enough to see assholes like this in the Chicago area. I'd hate to see what it's like in East Trumpistan. I've not seen asshole behavior in stores around me, but there are the inevitable dicknosers and chin diapers, and it seems like I'm the only one in the entire farking store wearing an N95. I don't regret switching - I find them easier to breathe through than the cloth masks I was using, and when it's -7°F outside, they're nice outdoors as well.

It makes me so glad that my museum has doors with windows that lock, so we can just have an employee buzz visitors in only after confirming that visitors are already wearing masks.  Nobody charging in and throwing a fit.

There's a cost to distance learning for kids that young.  They need the social interaction for healthy growth.  Balancing their needs and safety is the thing people should focus on more.

He used Bannon's bottom third strategy, appealing to people who have entirely failed at life and want to blame others for their failure. These losers are trying to lower our society to their level.
