Give it 5 years. Once they finish gutting the school systems, they will just turn Detention into "visit the recruiter" field trips.

I knew a lady who used her food stamps to buy steak and it meant Joe Manchin had to buy a smaller yacht and that was very un-American and selfish of her

Yeah, money fixes a lot of problems. We already know this.

I would say that no one should starve or thirst, or lack a home, but we have so many major problems its like, shiat, just hit pooty with some rods from God or a sword missile and end it.

That just validates the plan will reach the intended results.

Financial support... for poor mothers... fewer stupid voters...

For Republicans that's a lose / lose / lose.

I don't need a sarcasm detector; or did you miss Peki's "In before", meaning he posted before Manchin or another conservative tries to make that argument?

Those lines hit even harder today.

I remember that video.  I don't remember what I thought of it when it came out... I remember liking the song and thinking there was a connection with domestic violence, but I wasn't invested.

I just watched it again and I still don't know what I think about that video.

The .1% need their (near) slave labor to maintain their beyond opulent lifestyles. That's why they've shredded the social safety net, enacted "dog law" over the last couple decades. They are now dismantling abortion and shredding voting rights. They'll have plenty of stupid voters and near slaves for the foreseeable future,

This is stupid, because the government can say "if you accept federal aid (like all public schools do), you must allow recruiters".  Private schools that don't accept federal aid don't have to allow it.

In fact, it's actually the law when it comes to colleges and universities.

Certainly the Democrats wouldn't want this.  That would reduce their future voting base.

https://www.debt.org/faqs/americans-in-debt/economic-demographics-democrats/

An individual's likelihood of being a Democrat decreases with every additional dollar he or she earns. Democrats have a huge advantage (63 percent) with voters earning less than $15,000 per year. This advantage carries forward for individuals earning up to $50,000 per year, and then turns in the Republicans' favor - with just 36 percent of individuals earning more than $200,000 per year supporting Democrats.

Oh, and those 0.1%?  They're mostly Democrats too.  They need their dirt poor labor *AND* reliable voters.

While Democrats lose support as income increases, there seems to be a tipping point where the ultra-wealthy begin leaning Democratic. The most famous example would be the entertainment industry, where star-studded events have become a significant part of Democratic culture.
But this phenomenon is not limited to Hollywood. A review of the 20 richest Americans, as listed by Forbes Magazine, found that 60 percent affiliate with the Democratic Party, including the top three individuals: Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Larry Ellison. Among the riches families, the Democratic advantage rises even higher, to 75 percent.

For some reason Fark doesn't like the link and wouldn't post (also didn't say why it wouldn't post, or throw an error), but if you Google "debt.org" and "Economic Demographics of Democrats & Liberals" it should come right up.

Sorry about the double post.  Apparently it did work, at least once, but Fark wasn't showing it to me.

Huxley had it wrong. He didn't foresee that ARP (Automation, Robots, and Programming) would exponentially make vast swaths of the working population unemployed and - eventually - unemployable. No need for Gammas, Deltas, and Epsilons, and even most Betas.

What ARE needed, however, are reliable voters, and those can be mass-produced without fancy eugenics and cloning, by the simple destruction of institutions (such as public education) that at least make an attempt to instill critical thinking.

I wonder when the Republicans will borrow two concepts from Corporatism: the proxy vote, and the assigned vote?

For those who don't know, a proxy vote is one that is cast by one person as a representative of another. Someone could, for example, go around and collect notarized signatures of, say, 500 voters authorizing him to vote in their place. He then casts "his" 500 votes.

An assigned vote would be when you sign a legally-binding document that assigns your vote in perpetuity to the Party.

Imagine the mischief that Republicans could do with this!
