I suspect the point of the tip line is less intended to get information on instances teaching "divisive topics", and more intended to harvest email addresses on people inclined to send reports to a Republican administration.

I just kinda glanced over the images....and there was Joe Biden with a ice-cream cone.

And now I want a Ice Cream Cone...a waffle cone...with a chocolate scoop...and maybe even sprinkles.
/alexia add ice cream, waffle cones, and sprinkles to my shopping list.

It's going to be that, and also they're just going to use the response count for PR without mentioning if any of them are "real". Hell, I have my doubts that any are being read at all. I'm not saying to stop trolling them, just be aware that you're doing nothing but amusing yourself.

Ironic that any teacher in Virginia who is trying to teach students that it wasn't necessarily the expansion of Communism that the US feared in the 1980s, but an expansion of an authoritarian state that had its own citizens informing on each other, would be informed on.

at work we have a term... the 'too difficult' box, I'm sure we're not alone in the concept.
it's stuff you're basically ignoring or living with because you just don't have a solution, or there's not the bandwidth right now to start coming up with a solution.

these people would need a large box, but they refuse to have one at all... they just force everything into the 'see, it's easy' box that's right in front of them.

My offering:

Dear Governor Youngkin-

Thanks for the opportunity for parents such as myself to reach out with complaints about what teachers in our public school system are teaching our kids.

My situation is rather perplexing in that both of my children are being affected.  My son, Gabriel, is a 10th grade student and is also a paraplegic.  Despite this, the school's gym teacher is insisting he perform the hurdles portion of the "decathlon days" week.  While this might sound amusing as this routinely results in him falling on his face, I cannot say I find it funny as the medical bills are piling up.  Needless to say, he is being bullied at school because now his face resembles 2 pounds of hamburger and what's left of his elbows have more scabs than a West Virginia coal mine during a strike.

My daughter, Heather, is head-biatch (wears a red bow in her hair, the works, etc.) and is therefore entitled to special treatment from her teachers because obviously she is better than everyone else.  Despite that, her grade 11 history teacher insists on telling her that her ancestors more than likely had dozens of slaves.  That makes her feel bad.  She knows for a fact that our family would have had HUNDREDS of slaves.

I expect your administration will make the appropriate changes.

With respect-

Lourdes Remington-Chandler

Dear Governor Trumpkin,

My kids came home from school with a textbook that says slaves were unhappy, and that contradicts the textbooks I was taught from in Virginia public schools up until 1970.

The teacher is trying to divide me and my kids. I want him arrested, pronto.

"Enslaved people were happy to be in Virginia and were better off than they would have been in Africa. Abolitionists lied about slavery in the South. ... After the Civil War, carpetbaggers and scalawags came down to Virginia to oppress white Virginians. However, some 'broad-minded' Northerners came to understand and appreciate true Virginia and came to agree that Negroes were not ready to govern themselves."

Oh, wow. Yeah, it looks like the state's Mathematics Standard of Learning have a whole bunch of references to divisive concepts. It might be as many as 50, if you also include the content on fractions. It even says that students should be fluent by the end of grade 4.

Looks like Fark's server doesn't like the taste of the VDOE https certificate, though.

I have a disabled kid so have to deal with different departments within the State regularly.  Getting someone to read a legitimate email is hard enough, even under a Governor that's not a complete loon.  I'd be surprised if this is even dealt with by some third party.

Not that I don't appreciate the work and the humor, of course, just that I doubt this system was thought of to a point that someone is actually tasked with reading the emails, especially now that it's in the news cycle that it's being flooded with hilarity.
