I don't see what could possibly be entertaining about two people I don't know getting divorced. What they do is their business, not mine.
I'd rather read a thousand threads about star trek arguments than celebrity gossip.

//thought this shiat was circling the drain when they were taking photos of Channing Tatum taking out the trash

Am I missing some sort of Goodfellas joke there?

Brandon needs to get PAID for putting up with all of that for all those years.

When the male is the breadwinner it is cheered by the interwebs and women when the woman gets a huge payday...here we have the female as the breadwinner let's see how that plays out online and in court.

So she has beef with her ex?

Specifically, pastrami.

If it's still circling, I'm sure she knows how to heel it down.

Yeah, I thought about tying that in, but fark those guys.

She wants to sell the ranch, but he claims he beefs there.  How many showers does a $17M house have, anyway?

John Schneider nods in sympathy with Brandon.

There's nothing like a seriously pissed off woman when she thinks she's been cheated.

Kelly is likely to learn a valuable lesson: You can complain all you like but the courts don't give a shiat. Join the line of men, and nowadays a rising number of women, being forced to pay out significant portions of their income.

Most women really, Really, REALLY hate paying spousal support aka alimony aka manimony. Example:

Is Manimony Fair?

Many women now forced to pay alimony for their ex-husbands are outraged by the judicial system and calling for alimony reform. In some cases, women are paying as much as 65% of their income to their ex-husbands. Things are really heating up in states like Florida which don't take into account the amount of time married and still generously award permanent alimony. Florida recently vetoed a bill proposing alimony reform which brought a swarm of protesters to the state capitol. The Governor's office has since received 10,054 calls in support of alimony reform.

Women have been more vocal in revealing that alimony as a concept is broken. Marriage is the only contract where the liability continues long after the contract has ended. It simply doesn't make sense to owe someone for a lifetime who is perfectly capable of supporting themselves after only three years of marriage.

Keep in mind that most of those women hating on "manimony" probably never blinked twice hearing the news of a man being ordered to pay permanent alimony. Now that it affects them personally? Yeah, they give a shiat.

Doesn't it depend a lot on the perception of the relationship?  I don't think anybody cheers an obvious gold-digger unless they hate the guy.

the source explains. "He will not get one penny from her that isn't ordered by the judge. It's going to be nasty."

Judges love it when one party doesn't negotiate, let alone negotiate in good faith.

Yep.  By all means tell your lawyer, "I don't want them to get a penny more than a court would order", but never tell your lawyer to try and give them "nothing".  You'll still end up paying what the court would order, plus maybe some extra because you annoyed the judge with your attitude, plus extra legal fees.

You'll have plenty of time to wallow in hate afterwards, there's no point in throwing away money too.

I guess it depends. Even people I know IRL women expect half of everything regardless of the length of the relationship and contributions to the relationship. (these are not friends) I think it has become the expected norm and regardless of the guy I've seen women online cheering it

Pay him off, GTFO. It's just stuff, you can always get more stuff. Two years after it's over, you'll wonder why you made it so hard on yourself over a few pennies.

Don't things generally go poorly for the party refusing to negotiate and leaving it up to the judge?

Life tip for young starlets/singers:

Don't marry your manager.

Anyway, I'm on Kelly's side. I don't care about her or her music, but managers are scumbags. This guy is a scumbag.

I know a couple who gave half their 7-figure net worth to lawyers in a 5-year divorce. They both are glad they denied the other so much cash.

What a victory.

The attorneys are foaming at the mouth.

Why do you think attorneys make such outlandish first offers?  They want this to drag on for months, years.

I could tell their marriage was on the rocks long before they split up when I saw them on her episode of Carpool Karaoke.  Everything about their body language screamed "get away from me."
