I hear Anthony Daniels is going to guest star in this one, and he and Boba get into a wacky adventure helping a lost kid find her parents

Of course the most exciting part of this entire season so far has been somebody this show was a spin-off of finally showing up

I think he'll also be getting a Razor Crest type gunship by next season.

What a complete curveball.  I was not expecting...  meatpacking district brutality, Din breaking away from his asshole people, an homage to Prequel-era ships, and more Amy Sedaris than was really necessary.

I love it.  LOVE IT.

Boba should have a talk with the producers about the writing, direction, and special effects being vastly better in a chapter which he is not in. Does Mando have a contract saying that he is paid in FX?

Directed by: Bryce Dallas Howard

She's done some great work on Mando before this and really seems to have a handle on the combat/action takes. I wouldn't mind having her handling the remainder of the episodes.

Favreau is writing all the episodes. I'm guessing Disney forced everyone to do a Boba Fett show, and Favreau saved all his good stuff for Din Djarin.

While I generally liked it (Sad that the best episode of the Boba Fett show doesn't have Boba Fett in it), I do have some questions, like "What's the gift for Grogu?", "Why does the Darksaber get heavier?", and "Who the hell built a God Damned Ring World and how has it not been destroyed in one of the wars?".

/Also, how'd they fit a navicomputer into that fighter, but that's a minor one.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Best episode so far (although it's a fairly low bar).
Peli Motto adds just about the right amount of comedy but I wish there were fewer "cute" droids.
Fight scenes were superb & the starfighter test flight was such a joy to watch.
Yep, "Wizard", Was a bit lame, but the rest was really good.

Well, pantomime is one way, but Mando's physically pretty subdued outside of fighting so I'm not sure we're getting much out of posture that we wouldn't otherwise have anyway.  Which means it's all in the voice for the actor and the director and script have to carry the rest.

Bootleg: "What's the gift for Grogu?", "Why does the Darksaber get heavier?", and "Who the hell built a God Damned Ring World and how has it not been destroyed in one of the wars?".

1) The gift is chainmail (you saw the rings drop).
2) Plot bullshiat because The Force is now actively magic rather than something to be wielded.
3) Doesn't matter and it hasn't been destroyed because it would be a waste.

Even the empire only blew up 1 planet to instil fear/as a demonstration. Going around ruining centers of commerce and places people live is incredibly counter-productive if you want something to rule.

Screen Rant provided the answer to #3.  It's apparently canon; the Darksaber's energy works differently than other lightsabers.  https://screenrant.com/star-wars-darksaber-heavy-use-reason-mandalorian-rebels/

1)The package is a little small to be a chainmail shirt or hood, so I'm uncertain about that.
2) I mean, probably that, but still why.
3) It does matter, because it means there was a group with the capability to construct a ring world hanging out in the ass-end of the galaxy (Or, where ever one would be to be running daily shuttles to Tatooine). Would it be the same group that boiled off Tatooine's oceans?

The Empire destroyed one planet, but flattened several others (Mandalore as depicted in this episode, The whole Operation: Cinder bullshiat), and that's not counting the two Galaxy-Wide civil wars that have happened in the past 50 years. Neither side in either of those wars set up on this mysterious ring world and had to be dug out of it?

My working theory is that the bulk of the beskar from the spear was used to make chainmail for Grogu. The Armorer says that beskar is to be used for armor, not weapons. And we see the rings.

The wrapped gift is something else, most likely a replica gearshift knob in honor of how they bonded, made with leftover beskar.

/This is the way

Bo-Katan called him a "Child of the Watch" (Or maybe part of the "Children of the Watch", I don't fully remember) back in Chapter 11 of The Mandalorian.

/And The Manalorians that saved him as a kid (Chapter 8) were apparently Death Watch, though I'm not entirely certain how you were supposed to tell.

Operation Cinder was aimed at the people though. If they were ever completely subjugated the planet could be cleaned up and repopulated.

For all we know parts of the ring world are flatted and/or have been rebuild. We see only a small part of the entire thing, and to think that the entire structure looks the same as the bit around the space port is quite the assumption.

Destroying the entire planet/destroying the entire ring is another thing all together.

I was thinking the same thing. Whatever is wrapped up in there is just for shiggles, the main thing Mando had made is probably hidden under his armor for safekeeping, not stored in a handkerchief

One of the biggest concerns after the end of Mando season 2 was that Grogu was going to the Jedi Academy, where he would be killed by Kylo Ren in the future. Solution: Grogu gets beskar armor.

Maybe he'll quit the Jedi and become a bounty hunter prior to the Kylo.

This episode was callback central, and I loved it. I was watching the first 30 or so seconds going, okay some tough guy Boba's gonna recruit is hiding out in a meat packing place, and here comes--wait, WHAT?!

Then the Terminator scene with the ISDs and the probe droids.

And THEN farking Pelli pulls THAT out of her butt. There was a second of me adding up the description to realize what she was talking about and that was it for me. :P

Grogu goes with Luke ~19 years before Ben Solo destroys the Temple.

It was never anything to be really worried about.

The naboo fighter had a dome installed on the astromech space for a reason absolutely no reason at all and this was definitely not a status quo reset involving running crying back to the cult he had grown out of by the end of season 2.

I'm with Neo on this one, I loved seeing a BD droid from Jedi: Fallen Order (note - I am not an encyclopedia of Star Wars knowledge so if that's not where they originated from I apologize).
