Know your meme subby, TikTok  had nothing to do with the Tide Pod challenge. It was started by by Onion article, which then progressed around the internet, ultimately gaining popularity on You Tube, Twitter, and Reddit.

Want to learn to trade stocks?  Take a couple classes, read LOTs of books by people who actually know what they're doing (Hint, none of those people are posting stock advice on TikTok or "FinanceTok").  But for the VAST majority of people, Index ETFs and Index Mutual funds are all you need to be playing with.

Talk to a financial planner, IN REAL LIFE.

Your bank, which should have FDIC insurance and a physical branch, should be able to provide you with assistance finding a financial planner.

this is exactly the kind of shiat that just makes us all dumber:

'Maybe taking investment advice from social media was a bad idea "

here is truth that that above just obfuscates

Maybe taking investment advice from social media arbitrary not vetted sources was a bad idea.
To know what the general of a spceiffic example is, is actual knowledge.Imaging the specific is somehow the thing, rather than just one specific example of the general thing is where chit goes off rails.

While these social media stars are kind of stupid and pointless, they can have the following to move markets.  The gamestop/AMC/blackberry meme stocks of last year show that.

There is often opportunity to make money off these 'stars'.  Just be aware that all of them are pump and dumps and you need to be able to get out quickly.

Was gonna say, subby must be so old that they've lost track of what year TikTok even became popular.

Tik Tok is for idiots who dance to stupid music videos, biatch about their lives, and post useless 'life hacks'. Not for the dissemination of any information that will cause harm if it's not accurate.

I'm usually a skeptic by default, but TikTok and Facebook are my absolute bottom-of-the barrel last places I would go for advice on anything. TikTok especially is scam, after scam, after scam.

I mean, has anyone seen CNBC? Fox Business? This tab and its equivalents on other sites?

No one's going to give good specific guidance for investing (and sure as fark not for trading,) because they'll be making that move themselves. Safe guidance can be had for any price, and the rest are either fumbling blind, or counting on you to help pump their ticker of the day.

Just because one source is bad doesn't mean that another one isn't worse.
