Very cool.
That said, I find Gunn's  over use of music in his work to be distracting and sometimes detrimental to the production.

You should check out Edgar Wright's filmography.

I've watched this opening sequence so many times. It's absolutely fantastic and jarring in a good way in this age of Game of Thrones type CG intros.

He was Pico in Encanto as well. Dude's probably got a section of his resume titled "Disney Animals I've Made Noises For".

His best VO role was, and always will be, Dangerboat from The Tick, an AI controlled stealth boat that develops a creepy crush on Arthur.

The best part is how he hid quick glimpses of Judomaster peeking around the background scenery. The way it is edited, you have to be looking closely to see him.

(Alan Tudyk) sounds like a sexually promiscuous character that Scorcese left out of one of his mob movies.

Definitely like the opening sequence. Not sure about the show, though. I think I've watched two episodes, and I'm utterly exhausted. It's an attempt by DC to be a little more lively and fun, but they went completely over the top. Basically, this is Deadpool without the wit and sophistication. Yes, Deadpool is more sophisticated than something. This is OK, and like I said, at least they made an attempt, but they turned everything up to 17 and then wandered off...

But like I said, the opening sequence is truly awesome, mostly because it doesn't fit. At all...

Doesn't surprise me that Alan Tudyk had something to do with it, the guy is surprisingly talented for someone who hovers in the background the way he does. Every time I see his name, I know I'm in for a treat.

It takes the usual "big city doctor in a small town" plot trope and just completely turns it on its head in excellent ways. Since it's good, and on Syfy, I expect this to be its final season.

I love the kid winning verbal exchanges with the alien every time.  The guy could rip the kid apart, but you can see he wants to beat the kid at the kid's game and can't stand that he loses each time... and yet can't stop himself from trying again each time. It's hilarious.

That, and for me, I appreciated how the character stayed through to being, an alien. He didn't strive to become human, not even a little bit.

True, but as you have to know from the way the story starts and the general plot, he was always doomed to become just human enough that the show could continue.

I use ShareTV.com to track shows and premiers.  It's user-generated content so it's not perfect, but it's reminded me of more than one show's return after a long hiatus.   I just check my profile every week or two and see what's coming up on the schedule.

I don't think it'll be clear if the show is "good" until it's over - basically, by episodes 3-4 you know that Peacemaker is a dick who KNOWS he's a dick and doesn't want to be, and might be ready to try to be better.  But that sounds like a tricky character arc to pull off.

He's a homicidal maniac but only because he's a moron to dumb to realize it.  As it dawns on him, he becomes a better person.  With some backsliding from time to time as circumstances force his hand.

I'd say at this point he's already rehabilitated from villain to at least a wannabe-hero, we're just waiting to see what that means.

This is my weird ass, but I love that the show runs a strong anti-colonialist narrative, superimposing the experience of Native Americans with, in essence, native Terrans.

Also: At the beginning of the series, he describes humans as vaguely dumber than lizards (this is like the first line of the show so I feel it's not a spoiler). His progress in thinking of us as essentially a lower animal to thinking of us as beings for whom he has empathy is really neat.

I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying the show because I found Peacemaker to be annoying in The Suicide Squad. I gave the show a chance though, because after watching Trainwreck, Tour de Pharmacy, and Blockers, I know Cena has some serious comedic chops.

It comes off as a more humorous version of The Boys so far.

Yeah, that's why I gave it a chance, too. Suicide Squad was (finally) enjoyable, and Peacemaker was just over the top enough. it's why I'm enjoying this up to this point. And yeah, Cena can be pretty goddamned funny.

Alan Tudyk is an actor who is in a special wish list of mine.

This wish list is made up of actors who are usually in comedic roles, though have not yet played dark villains. Villain in a comedy? Doesn't count. Asshole role? Not quite. I mean truly dark villains*.

I would love to see Tudyk play a villain in a twisted R-rated thriller. Jeffrey Tambor, Seth Rogen, Kate McKinnon, and Reese Witherspoon also make my list.

Examples of actors who've pulled it off:
Robin Williams (Insomnia, One Hour Photo)
Albert Brooks (Drive)
Steve Carell (Foxcatcher)
Rodney Dangerfield (Natural Born Killers)
John Lithgow (Dexter)
Michael Keaton (Pacific Heights)

*and none of this surprise-ending-it-was-him/her-all-along-at-the-last-second. I want to see the full character develop. I want to see the raw madness.
