That's crazy talk!  Oil doesn't grow on trees, you know.

/Just look at that patina

How about opening one in the south end of the Bay Area?

When you cook something in a deep fryer, some of the oil stays on the food.

Ergo we can assume that the oil will need to be topped up occasionally. That means the oil gets "replaced" in a 25 year cycle.

You forgot to account for the free bonus replenishments from guy with exceptionally greasy hair who is leaning over that fryer all day.

I have never eaten anything from there except their ice-whatever it is (soft serv? ice cream?). Is any of their actual food any good, i.e. their burgers, fries, chicken?

Who cares?

Cinci had UDF. Superior to dairy queen in every way and a gas station.

Most I ever ate at dairy queen was their 5 dollar lunches an old boss raved about. It was subpar burger. Subpar fries. A drink and a soft serve ice cream that I frankly wasn't gonna eat and just give to said boss.

You've never had deep fried ice cream cones?  Have you never been to a state fair?

That and it would ruin the fries.

Last time we stopped at DQ was mostly for their creamsicle dip.  It took almost five minutes for the employee to respond to our sitting at the order kiosk and because the woman seemed to have a serious hearing problem, another five to get to the "We're out of the dip."  My wife told her to forget the order and we went to McDs across the street, who didn't have dip, but we had our order in under three minutes.

My favorite dq item growing up was the soft serve cone with a double dipped chocolate shell. Mission was to suck the ice cream out of the top of the shell with the cone held upside down. I think i succeeded once or twice in five years, got a cone three times a week...

Their bargain-bin burgers are better than average for the price range. Not that it's a ringing endorsement.

If you need something filling with no flavor during a case of norovirus, the chicken strip basket with fries and gravy fills your stomach without upsetting the new residents.

"Dairy Queen celebrates 75 years in Texas, asks customers to share favorite DQ memories"

Both my older sisters had their tonsils removed on the same day. We went to DQ and all got Mr. Mistys and then went to a park. There was a drive-in type screen set up and we sat with the hippies on the grass and watched the new release of Sgt. Pepper. It was summer of 68' and I'd just graduated Kindergarten; good times!

DQ has the steak finger basket with fries and the cream gravy.

Checkmate liliputians!

Their burger is pretty tasty. That gets upgraded to really tasty if you find an older DQ that make their burgers on a chain grill.

Theres a DQ a few blocks down the street from me, but they dont serve "food", just ice cream/ice cream adjacent stuff. I cant remember the last time i got anything other than ice cream from DQ, maybe a coney dog like 30 years ago?

Its like 5 degrees outside and i damn well may end up getting a snickers blizzard after dinner tonight...

Was he Warren Buffet? Ugh, I can't imagine getting excited about DQ for lunch.
