While this map is fun, it misses the Peters Projection and, for some unknown reason omits the ... areas ... that were of concern during the... ahem ... Difficult Period.

While the American War of Independence was, I'm sure, an embarrassment for the UK, calling it "difficult" would probably be a stretch. After the war, most of the Americans continued trading with the UK and providing the resources that they wanted, and the most profitable colonial ventures (sugar production in the Caribbean) still belonged in their hands. The War had the additional benefit of bankrupting the French, which, while it would lead to unforeseen headaches (Napoleon), also created many opportunities.

It's amazing how little bribery it takes to get "progressives" on Fark to support 'race to the bottom' free trade, depression of wages for working people, and a lack of sovereignty. It's like a bizarro Fark every time we have a Brexit thread.

Do you people even understand what you're gloating over?

I don't know, he sometimes skips threads where his job is going to be defending the indefensible, but I've just been trying to have a discussion with him in a different thread where he's trying to defend the #10 parties, and he's desperately trying to whatabout about Keir Starmer, so, well, like I said, I don't know.
