Last time, the QB's wife had to beg. This time it's selective ticket sales.

Can the Lambs not sell tickets without and extortion angle?

Rams by 17 or Niners by 3.

This is nothing new.

During the Cubs WS season, Milwaukee wouldn't sell tickets to Chicago people.
I know there have been limitations on THE Ohio State/Michigan game.
I heard the same bout Auburn/Alabama as well as the Egg Bowl in Mississippi.
I know it's happened in the NHL, I think it was in the Pitt/Philly matchup in the Cup in 18

Nothing new at all.

Washington does this with hockey tickets to Pittsburgh and possibly other local teams during the playoffs. I'm sure many do when you have a local rivalry.

There's probably a lot of Niners fans in the LA area.

A lot of teams have done this, including Tennessee this past weekend.  However, it's not gonna matter.  There's a lot of 49er fans who live in LA and I'm sure there will be at least a 50/50 split for this game.

And a lot of us who at least have friends in the LA area. If I could afford to do so, that's what I would do.

not gonna matter when half the tickets hit stubhub

Niners fans are going to regard this as a challenge I expect. Already had a couple calls looking for a couch. Luckily (for this, not in general), I live in Orange County, so I expect no one in their right mind will want to drive up the 405.

I still think going to an opposing team's stadium to root for your team is kind of a jerk move.

Imagine paying money to go into someone's house, hoping everyone in the house has a bad day and everything goes terribly wrong, cheering it on and going home happy.

Now make that household about 75,000 people.

I fail to see the problem here.

So long-time Rams fans from St Louis can't buy tickets? The Rams are one of those teams that have more fans that don't live in L.A. than fans that do.

I, of course, have no citation for that.

So . . . purchase Visa gift card.  When registering it online, use the address of a major hotel in Los Angeles.  Use said gift card to purchase tickets.  Problem solved, right?

To me I think, "Why would I want the opposing team's billionaire owner to get money. I'd much rather have my team's billionaire owner get money."

(I think in the NFL, the TV revenue is split evenly, but the team gets to keep the $$$ generated at their own stadium? Or maybe it was they only got to keep the money from the suites?)

If they didn't do that LA would have a mostly empty stadium.

This Pole disagrees completely

There's nothing wrong with visitors rooting for their team. A problem is fans' idiotic screaming their heads off so the other team can't execute. If both teams have to go with a silent count it would be a shame. At least the home team will have the advantage of using the jumbotron to wake up their drunken fans when it's third down.

I held out for as long as I could, but live here long enough and you'll do it too. Although I'll never get the names (Ventura,Hollywood,Santa Monica,Harbor, etc) down I don't think.

Back pre-COVID I had a trip to London planned and bought tickets to see Spurs play Arsenal in Tottenham stadium.  When I purchased the tickets there was a disclaimer that I was buying tickets in the Home section and would not be allowed to enter the stadium if I was wearing Arsenal colors.  The whole trip ended up getting cancelled due to COVID and I am a sad Spurs supporter anyway so I never got to see if that was true or not.

100% true. Crowds are strictly segregated in England and elsewhere in Europe. MLS has started doing it also.

Maybe some UK farkers will comment, but I think that would be asking for trouble. We were visiting London once and unknowingly walked in to an area near a match. The cops were out like it was a riot.

I am a Spurs fan, so it didn't affect me.  I was just amazed they actually exerted that level of control over the crowds.  I guess when you have a history of hooliganism and soccer riots you tend to crack down.
