This makes me a bit sad because they're quite local to me, and it was cool to think that a couple o teuchters fae the Broch had become globally successful.

But yeah, turns out they're more Brodouche than Brewdog.

This was immediately obvious to anyone who watched an episode of their self-promoting brewing show.  The fact that these two idiots control a company with $2b in assets is everything about what's wrong with venture capitalism.

The whole craft beer industry, in the US and UK, has been having its "me too" reckoning for the past year.
A female brewer, frustrated at being questioned about her credentials, simply posted about it on Instagram and asked what others have experience.
Ho. Lee. Shiat. The floodgates opened.
Tons of stories of sexism. Then hostile work environments. Then sexual abuse and straight up rape. Certain egregious breweries were brought to their knees when it spilled out into the MSM.
I was glued to my phone on Insta, doom-scrolling from one story to another. It was horrifying.

Jeremy Piven as the anit-hero here to being the cockweasel in 'Back to School' was hard to process.

When asked about his co-workers, James Watt confided, "I love em all. I work with three women, two Jews, two nxxxxrs and a sxxc."

He is expected to resign soon, to be replaced by a woman who will give birth to a Supreme Court Justice.

/ Congrats to the two or three farkers to whom this provides a blast from the past and a sensible chuckle.

The guy who repeatedly stole the IP from people his company was interviewing (including the entire Punk af marketing campaign) is an asshole? You don't say!

They also flew in prospective employees for interviews and then never reimbursed them for the flight and accommodations despite promising to do so. And that is on top of stealing their IP!

If men had to put up with even a fraction of what women do in the workplace, the entire world would have changed by now.

Just like how straight guys suddenly understand consent really well, as soon as they enter a gay bar.

Oh no. I hate to have to break it to you, but Updog died of exhaustion.
Just got totally played out and collapsed. At least, that's what she said. ;)

We have a local BrewDog brewery and it also has a hotel.

I haven't been there, one of my neighbors was a brewmaster but she moved when the pandemic hit

Shame if the company is run by a douchebag that treats people like shiat

Although, I am guessing that's 99% of companies nowadays

Can confirm. I have 4 close female friends who brew at 2 different breweries (including an owner) and this has been making waves and leading to some great partnerships and even charitable contributions.

A few years ago, the owner mentioned above refused to be part of a Canada-wide promotional pack because one of the other brewery's can artwork features pinup girls. She asked them to change the artwork and they refused, so she bowed out, losing a bunch of much needed money. Even stuff like that is understandably frustrating.

Mr Watt's lawyer said: "At no time did Mr Watt have a sexual encounter on the roof terrace of the Franklinton bar.

That's one of those strangely specific denials, isn't it?

Brewdog make decent beer and they have made good beer more easily to access but holy hell is it cult.

I did the tour at Ellon and they seriously consider themselves to be the first craft brewery in Britain.

So douche bag micro brew owners exploit their minor celebrity and open bar to act like arseholes and take advantage of drunk young women?  Say it isn't so.

Of the higher ups in the craft industry, the old head boomers would tend to have a bit of the sexism that was just built into their generation, but the millenial/gex x brewers and owners acted like tech bros.  All the press and fanboys gave them a god complex.

Not if the accusation was as specific.
