Is it me or is the PLAA simply running the flight hours off of Taiwan's planes? Not exactly the most direct way to inflict attrition, but it does seem like it follows China's playbook to the letter. Don't do anything egregious enough to warrant retaliation, just keep leaning on your adversary enough to make them uncomfortable enough that they accommodate you.

Cut the foreplay and just make sure you nuke my city first.

Perfect summation. They will take inches and redraw maps every year. Then say these are the maps we have of our territory.

From Indian water reservoirs to South China Sea oil and fishing.

Two front war!

Maybe, just maybe, this time we will learn from the mistakes of the past and annihilate the enemy, or be annihilated trying.

Does China have planes on the used aircraft carrier it bought, yet? I don't follow these things very closely.

What's scary about it? Nothing new happening there, and China still isn't going to invade Taiwan.

Well it'd probably be easy for them to pull that off if nato ends up fighting russia.
although, like I've said with russia, why do they gotta go around bothering their neighbours?

look at how well they ran hong kong. they'll just fark the place up if they grab a hold of it anyway.

Ain't that a geographic oddity: US happens to be conducting missile shoot down drills at the same time...

They bought it to take apart and reverse engineer. They can only fly planes from it if they put all the parts back together correctly.

Historically, it's a pretty reliable strategy.  Europeans have been doing it to literally everyone for like 500 years: they rarely just straight up invade you, most of the time they just buy your country out from under you, brick by brick.

Well, it means nothing, so whatever. Well, I gues it means something: The US Navy boated past China and saw them do a thing they always do, so the navy sent tourist pictures home?

Maybe Greenpeace can send one of their ships to do something useful, like protest the fuel pollution from the rockets falling into the ocean.

Come on, China. Can you at least wait about 20 years before you decide to take on the West? At least by then I will be dead and not have to deal with a bunch of damned nukes raining down on me.

China is nothing, if not, greedy for expansion.

Not trying to make China out to be a good guy, or anything, because fark those assholes that run the place, but I saw on a post (I think from Fark) quite some time back the map of what Taiwan uses for their radar that they watch, and what they consider "threatened airspace."  That map extends quite significantly into the airspace above mainland China's soil.  Many of these "incursions" are Chinese planes flying above Chinese soil, or within a few miles of the shore line.  They aren't flying over Taiwan, or anything of the sort.  Does Taiwan freak out about it all the time?  Yes.  Do they have reason?  Yes.  But it's the equivalent of some gangster sitting on a bus seat across the aisle from you.  Just because they stand up and walk past you doesn't mean you narrowly avoided an assault.  It just means they were exercising their rights to move.

That could've happened considering Taiwan's ADIZ extends over the PRC.  These current larger scale incursions are reported to the south and south west of Taiwan
