If all of these episodes help the public get over the myth that someone should automatically be a role model simply because our farked-up society is willing to pay them obscene amounts of money to play a game, so much the better.

Don't get me wrong - there are a *lot* of pro athletes that I respect and look up to.  But that's because of what they say - *and what they do* - off the field, not just because they rack up points on the field.

There's a lot of pro athletes that seem to be revered by the fans who objectively seem to be scum, too, and maybe now more folks will take notice of that.

I said they should have cut bait with him earlier this year with all his COVID bullshiat and putting other players, staff, and family at risk and then everyone said noooooooooooooooo he's the best in the league

0-4 versus the 49's in the playoffs, didn't even get you to the Superb Owl

It's from NBC Sports by a football writer, Logan Reardon.  It's reprinted in probably hundreds of places.  I read it yesterday on Yahoo sports.

Rodgers obviously has severe brain damage and probably severe CTE and makes it evident every time that he opens his mouth. Saturday before they lost he tried to call out the White House and CDC. Dude has lost it. He can retire and become Throw Rogans co-host with his anti-vaxxer fiance.

I'm a Packer fan, but the Packers are slated to be WAAAY over the cap and will lose at least one defensive stud and most likely Adams.  Adams was targeted a 100 times more (+100, not x100) than the next closer one of A A Ron's options.  Rodgers is a great QB, he's also a biatch.  The end of the era of GB being close is nearly over if not already done.

Well now you're shifting from not good enough to win, to loud anti vaxxer. He's certainly one of those things.

And one of those things has made me take down the autographed jersey off my wall. But I'm not gonna pretend he isn't still an elite QB who probably wins an mvp this year.

Thing about the cap, it's so very easy to fudge it.

The chiefs were hard against the cap, then did huge deals for Mahomes and Kelce (I think it was Kelce).

If a front office blames the cap for something, 90% of the time it's because they want to blame the cap.

You have that number about 2 years too far into the future.  If hes not parking cars, its because he is too crippled with injuries to be able to walk or stand up correctly.

As a lifelong Packer fan, I say release him/trade him/whatever. He's one of those QBs who puts up insane numbers and then chokes in the playoffs. This was the most talented offense he has had in years, esp. at RB (although it did hurt when Dillon got his ass injured...dumbass). I loved Favre but he tended to choke in playoffs too, but not for lack of heart or will...he simply made horseshiat throws at the worst possible times (see his last game as a Packer vs the Giants). But Rodgers has never been about the team...that's become obvious. He refuses to audible out of bad play calls by LeFleur just so he can "stiggnit" to the club, almost as if he's saying "Well, you hired this coach...I can only execute the plays he calls".

I frankly don't care about his vaccination stand or even his dumbass comments to the press about it. It's not like he's the only anti-vaxer in the league (just the most vocal about his own stupidity). I care that with all his talent, he doesn't have the heart of someone like Mahomes, Brady, Favre, or any other number of QBs who have physical talent but who play with some measure of heart and passion, esp. when the chips are down.

You never saw Bart Starr back down against adversity.

I don't think it was fake, he wanted out but failed to find a landing spot to his liking.

Anyhoo:

"I don't want to be a part of a rebuild if I'm going to keep playing," Rodgers said after Saturday night's 13-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

The Packers are deep in salary-cap debt entering the offseason and have numerous players with expiring contracts or uncertain futures, including Rodgers, All-Pro Davante Adams and edge rusher Za'Darius Smith.

"There's a lot of players whose futures are up in the air, so definitely will be interesting to see which way some of those decisions will go," Rodgers said.

So the owners are going to have to shell out beyond cap again to keep him there so they can wash out in the playoffs again. I don't see it coming together to his liking.

That doesn't say that the Packers are rebuilding. Adams will be franchise tagged. Z Smith played maybe one entire half in a season where the Packers were the #1 seed so, while he's good it isn't like the team can't play without him.

You're reading a lot into the comments, especially after a whole offseason of bullshiat comments that never amounted to anything.

Unless you have first hand knowledge of everything you wrote, you're just speculating (as I am, after a fashion). He doesn't appear to audible very much, and god knows if LeFleur's playcalls are not flat out mystifiying in their stupidity at certain times. Rodgers has enough years of experience to audible out of a shiatty play call. So, my hypothesis is he simply doesn't give that much of a shiat about winning any more. If he did, he would find a way like all the great QBs do. Also, how do you get to this: he refuses to be the center of attention ? Not saying he is an attention whore, except off the field, but some of his pre-game comments this past week certainly seem to think he considers himself God's gift to the Packer faithful.
