Pizza is the culinary embodiment of Gene Roddenberry's "IDIC" philosophy - 'Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations'.  Our differences come together to make us all greater than the sum of our parts.

Thank God there is not just one style of pizza!  We would miss out on so much.

I like 'American' style pizza, both thin crust and thick.  I like the 'Official VPN Certified' Neopolitan pizza.

I like classic minimalist pizza, with just crust, tomato sauce, and cheese.  And I like meat lover's pizza with pepperoni, sausage, bacon, and venison.

I like pizza at a good sit-down pizzeria, and delivery from a good local Mom and Pop shop.  I like pizza I make from scratch at home, and a decent frozen pizza.

I like all of these things - IF THEY ARE DONE WELL.  It's too easy to end up with crappy pizza, and life is too short.

Enjoy pizza's endless diversity.  But make sure it's *good* pizza.

One if a highly specialized style that probably makes up less than 1% of the pizza made in the city it's named after.

The other is a style loved BC it's cheap and greasy.

To the majority of the country, it's a stupid farking argument.

We ran across Motor City at Costco.  It is now our frozen pizza of choice. Nice thick crust, good sauce and lots of pepperoni.  I also like the slightly burned cheese around the edges.

We've tried several local "artisanal" pizzas and found them over-priced and not very good.

The only thing better than a pizza is two pizzas. One NY, one Chicago.

I've only ever had Chicago style pizza once, when I spent a few days there like 4 years ago. I wasn't impressed with it. But everyone was like "OMG, you HAVE to try this!" It was annoying.

But, take this with a grain of salt as I get cravings for pepperoni Bagel Bites or a Totino's party pizza from time to time.

I'm perfectly content with an Anthony's Coal Fired pizza. Pepperoni and sausage, please.

There's nothing wrong with Totino's. When I finally get my ooni, I'm going to cook one in it.

its about as perfect a combination as you can ask for.

as long as its good

I'm not a fan of the Provel cheese. To me, it tastes too salty and I want stretchy cheese on my pizza.

So, they are comparing NYC pizza to the tourist pizza in Chicago? They should have gone to Pat's, Vito & Nicks, or a Dags.

If you fold it, it's a taco. A greasy, congealed, cardboard taco.

I've never heard of this until a few years back, and I've been to Altoona a lot over the years.

I'd give it a try.  I've made similar when throwing a snack together out of random bread products and whatever is in the fridge.

I suppose it may be argued that it is just too good to wait for. The real reason for folding is foolishly putting it in their mouths when it's too hot to eat.

I recently found out I prefer Jets' take on Detroit style better than the original. The toppings were better (fresher) at Buddy's Pizza but I found that Jets crust and cheese were better and the sauce was kinda a tossup with Jets having more herbs which is my preference. Buddy's reminded me a bit of late 1980s Pizza Hut as far as the greasiness of the crust

New Haven Style is my favorite.

New York style Pizza  is not the same food as Chicago style Pizza.  It's like comparing Texas Chili with Cincinnati chilli.

New York Pizza is a flatbread, and Chicago Pizza is a casserole.  Nothing wrong with that, they both taste pretty good.

Old Forge Pizza is good, but odd.

totino's is my go to frozen pizza. the crust is what i like about it. it seems like all frozen pizza is disappointing-especially the "expensive" ones. kinda hard to be disappointed when you've only spent a buckofitty, tho.

Just tried a new place around here.  (Well, new to me anyway) - Duccini's Pizza, in Baileys Crossroads.  They've got a few locations around.

Pizza is NY style.  Got a small cheese and a large pepperoni with sausage on half as a test.  Interestingly, the cheese and the pepperoni both seemed better than the pepperoni and sausage.   None of it was bad, but I was surprised to see the sausage drag the pepperoni down a little.
