Now is the winter of their discontent.

Traitors. The lot of them. Until we start calling them that and the South traitors in the Civil War, we won't move forward. Japan and Germany took a long walk in the woods after WWII, this country never did after the Civil War.

To be fair, I didn't know it was a country, either.

Us Americans are very presumptuous and self-centered, not realizing that we're not the only failing nation in the world!

FTA:

"We want the military to take power," said Salif Sawadogo as he tried to avoid tear gas on the streets of Ouagadougou. "Our democracy is not stable."

Mmmmmmmmmaybe it's because people want the military to take power?  Just spitballing here.

TFG's totally a lumbering Faso and I'm not surprised he said something as dumb as this about his failed coup.

I know Ouagadougou, because I have a friend who lived there for a year and has visited many times, and the religious community I belong to supports a village in Burkina Faso.

Also, Burkina Faso was once called the Upper Volta, and I did read Joseph Conrad...

I thought it was fictional because there's a short story called The Bank of Burkina Faso that's very fantastical.
