At this rate, he'll be able to snap half the league out of existence

Go Not Tom Brady.  Though at times I can look beyond what a dope he is and appreciate being pretty damn good way later in life than is usual.  But I'm not rooting for him.

I don't want to count out either of yesterday's winners, but I would not be shocked if today's winners are playing in 3 weeks in LA.

Yeah today may be Conference Championship Week.

But this whole season has been... parity.

I also would be surprised if *yesterdays* winners are playing in the Owl.  I mean... they have two times before!

In 1981 and 1988 they were both 1 or 2 seeds.  So less likely this time around.

But back in '81 the Niners were perennial chokers in the big game, going up against the big bad Cowboys, and really, who expected the Bengals to win the AFC? As last night adroitly pointed out, seeds don't always mean good.

I'm also reminded, as I was looking it up to see how TF Qaron ever won an Owl, of the 2010-11 playoffs:

This was the 7-9 Seahawks defeating the defending SB champs, then Green Bay beating Vick & Reid, then #1 seed Atlanta, then Lovie & Cutler's Bears, as well as the Jets beating Peyton & Brady before losing to Ben (because Jets) on the AFC side.

Eh, Niners/Rams would be a better game. That's all I really care about.

I'm predicting Rams 28, Bucs 21. And all seven touchdowns will be pick-sixes.

I don't hate Tom Brady the way I did when he was in New England.  But I'm still rooting against him.

Go Fightin' Staffords!

2022-01-23 2:44:19 PM
I am sick of Brady. I hate the arrogance. I hate TB12 and the obviousness behind it. Yeah, thanks for telling me that I have to drink a lot of water, Captain No shiat. Forty year old muscle magazines told me the same damn thing. I hate the constant verbal masturbation from the media every time he takes a dump. This coming from a bleeding maize and blue Michigan guy.

Go Rams. For many reasons. fark Brady, and Go Stafford. What pisses me off more, is that I am a Michigan guy, and I'm rooting for the guy from Georgia to take down Brady. Also because Stafford is one of the best dudes in the league, and he had an ocean of shiat to deal with in Detroit.

I'll be listening to Grossi calling the games today. I feel bad for the guy, after the Packers lost the way they did. Wow, he looked so... dejected.

I'm surprised Brady isn't wearing the Tampa Bay ring on a middle finger.

Brady is going to have a real problem with the Rams defense. If they can get constant pressure he might go into his shell. We'll have to see, the retirement news is interesting - where Brady is sort of hedging on whether he will or not.

That sounds like a prediction I would make. Also, you stole by prediction.

Bucs don't punt or turn it over all game and win 33-27, with Succup going 11/11 on fieldgoals. The defense somehow saves the day with a last minute (literally) pick of Stafford.

Cutler got hurt in that game(remember players like MJD calling him a quitter?)so Rodgers beat Chicago's backup to get to the SB. By a touchdown scored on a pick six by a defensive linemen.
Not saying the Bears would have won if Cutler didn't get hurt, because he was playing like crap before he got hurt and it was still Jay Cutler. Interesting thing to me is that Green Bay started that game with a long opening touchdown drive, then the Bears defense did a pretty good job on them the rest of the way. Sorta like last night.

Anyway, Rodgers is out, so everything else is gravy.

Playing the Bucs would be a hell of a stretch for the 49ers. Rams, Cowboys, Packers, Bucs, all on the road.

Still, I'll probably pull for the Rams.

I like that they make this a QB thing.

I hope the league gets enough black QBs that we'll stop acting as though QBs are entire teams ('cause that's what'll happen - suddenly everyone in the sport will decide that position shouldn't be as important).

We literally just watched a worse QB with a worse performance make it to the NFCCG. It's important, but it doesn't overcome a great team playing well.

This might be your most off-base comment yet. What??

QB is the team, the face, the most important player, games are more often won and lost based on QB play than any other position - just look at the Titans. Also, the league averages 25-33% of QB's as starters. That's better than the national demographic of 14.2%, wouldn't you agree?

Look, the fact is that the league (and media) started valuing QBs way more (and changing the rules to help them matter more) as the rest of the positions got more and more black.

Sorry y'all don't pay attention.
