So I have a second date with someone tonight. We've been talking for a while and she tells me she's into hockey.

Awesome!

We talk a little last night and this morning and I mention watching the CBJ game last night and how, unfortunately, they lost to Pittsburgh.

It's here that the monkey paw finger curls and she mentions she's a Penguins fan. Biiiiiig oof

Anyway on your tonight!

The Oilers lost 6-0 in Thursday's game, even though they had 40 shots and gave up 28. Draisatl had a moment of weakness with one of the reporters, and Keith slipped up and talked about how much harder it is to play when you're always behind. It looks like Koskinen will start again tonight.

Can Detroit just keep Dekeyser off the ice?  He looks like has no business being on the ice for the regular 60 much less ANY time in OT.  I'd rather they paired Seider with any other L shooting defensemen- Leddy, Staal, or Oesterle.  Any of these have got to be better at this point.

I've never been happier about a 2-1 OT loss than last night. For Vancouver to take a point off Florida with three of their top six forwards out, along with their all-star goalie and his backup.

Glad for Spencer Martin, who started his first NHL game in five years. One of the smartest things Vancouver did was getting and keeping Ian Clark as a goaltending coach.

More fun stuff, the CHL commissioned an independent report on off-ice issues in major-junior hockey, and then did nothing.

This is major story here.

The independent committee (including Sheldon Kennedy) hired to investigate the CHL issued a damning report in Dec. 2020. It found off ice misconduct a "cultural norm" and a "code of silence" to cover it up.

The CHL received the report and buried it. https://t.co/3lG10QAuUI

Also, an idiot on the San Jose AHL team made a monkey gesture at Coyotes prospect Boko Imama, who is black; during a game on January 12 and got a 30 game ban for his stupidity. It is the 2nd consecutive season that a dumbfark made a racist gesture at Imama.

Both teams giving up a last min goal is unusual, but harder on the last team, especially with just 0.4 seconds left.

Mattheson comes off even worse when you watch the part of the press conference before they got to him, Draisaitl was being perfectly reasonable answering the previous questions.

True. However another goal, especially before the end of the 2nd, will make it easier to defend.
Rielly and Brodie are playing much more than they usually do. The third pair D is not on the ice very often. Those two guys will be exhausted if they have to protect a two-goal lead for over twenty minutes.
