This is his way of coping.

Not criticizing, I think it's beautiful.

Just understand it for what it is.

Certainly is. I'm very glad I read this today on Fark's Main page. The thoughtfulness and bravery of the kids involved gives me hope for our futures.

Neuroblastoma.. probably seeing a specialist at St Jude's, they're probably the best equipped in the world to take care of it. Most likely the money is for travel and lodging so that the kid can get the best care they can find.

There should be a global cancer insurance fund, apart from regular private insurance companies and public health coverage plans. All nations pay into it, because surely all nations' residents would benefit from it.

It certainly would be appreciated the world over. If we trimmed from some billionaires we could put a pretty good safety net under all of us for catastrophic disease like that.

It'll never happen. But it would be nice.

Crazy that he's getting cancer treatment in the worst healthcare system in the world.  Makes no sense.

America is a great place for the rich and a bad place for everyone who is not rich.

Nobody is denying that the USA has great medical technology and world class treatment facilities, but when it is inaccessible to a large chunk of the population or they need to beg online or bankrupt themselves to get treatment, it's not a great system.

One of the biggest problems with pediatric cancers is that they have been using the same drugs to treat cancer kids that they were using in the 80s.

There have been dozens of new drugs for adults in the same period that have slashed the fatalities among adults, but the pharma companies refuse to pay for trials on pediatric cases because the market is far too small to justify the expense for them.

There is a bill in Congress that comes up every few years that would pay for trials with these life saving drugs on pediatric cases, that always passes in the house, but then dies in the Senate because farking McConnell, the Freedom Caucus and even a handful of idiot democrat senators kill it, because the pro life Republicans are worried that nearly all of these drugs were and are tested on fetal cells.

They literally allow tens of thousands of kids to die of cancer every farking year, because they think Jesus wants them to protect the stem cells of aborted fetuses.

This young man is inspiring in his generosity.  Nearing the end of his life he is trying to help someone else.  I thinks it shows his character and will comfort his parents after his death.  Good for him!
