in the past twenty years or so, the only way I got a decent raise is when my job title changed significantly, although that meant leaving a company shortly before it had layoffs a few times.
Companies just don't want to give raises, period.

Throwing a ball around is a huge contribution to mankind.

Owners and stock owners prefer it that way

Two years ago, my wife took a job with the State for which she is seriously over-qualified.  With Step changes and post-trial increases, she's had a 24% increase since then and is looking at a promotion as soon as one opens.  Probably another 20%.  Plus, she hits five years as a CPA in October, so she can supervise* new CPA candidates.

*Once you've passed all of the tests, you have to work under a CPA for a year before you get certified.

Meanwhile, I got a 5.9% SS increase and a 14.5% Medicare premium increase.

$30M seems low compared to his peers. The Wells Fargo CEO made more than that in 2019.

It's ridiculous, but somehow not as ridiculous as America has conditioned me to expect.

I know a lot of people hate Jamie, but I'd like to remind you that when Bear Stearns fell on its ass. JPMorgan Chase stepped-in and bought it, which they didn't have to do.  They could have just smiled and walked on but took one for the team.  JPMorgan Chase did settle a fine of $13 billion USD with the federal government for some bad mortgage deals. Word is Paulson took Dimon and some other guys behind closed doors and told 'em "You are gonna take some TARP funds" Dimon maintains they weren't needed by his bank.

"Anti-business behavior by some Democrats has disturbed him, Dimon said.
"I've gotten disturbed at some of the Democrats anti-business behavior, the attacks on work ethic and successful people," Dimon said. 'I think it's very counterproductive."
"t doesn't mean I don't have their values. I want jobs. I want a more equitable society. I don't mind paying higher taxes. ... I do think we're our brother's keeper, he went on. "But I think that ... attacking that which creates all things, is not the right way to go about it."

my shiat raise shows up, like clock work, on the check i get in the same week the landlord raises my rent by almost exactly what the raise was. Sometimes a little more, not less.

and he was so magnanimous during 2020, he deferred his entitled rent increase for a whole year. Doubling the rent increase in 2021 of course to be back to his entitlement.

more or less by my POV, every landlord, is form another country that is openly hostile to yours.
Pay them or be without shelter, there is no community or connection between you, other than what value they can extract from you.

Jesus fark, I hate him more now after reading that than I did even when I worked for his garbage company.

What attack on work ethic and successful is he talking about, you wonder? You mean expecting rich people to pay taxes? EAT an ENTIRE sack of shiat.

He was by far the most punchable person on the second Corporation movie.
He embodies everything that is wrong with society
