If they are tasty, open season, year round, no limits. Have a green crab festival. A chef's challenge in the big cities. I don't know...it's a problem that can be eaten into submission.

Biker 1: How much is crab going for?
Biker 2: Up to $70 a pound.
Biker 1: Shake hands with a millionaire.

They don't look good for picking, but they might be tasty as a soft shelled sandwich .

I have bravely gone down the internet rabbit hole of green crab and apparently they are tasty enough to eat. I guess the larger problem is how do you make sure you only trap green crab and not a native species.

It was first detected on the US West Coast in 1989 in San Francisco Bay. Some experts advocate turning the invasive crab into a delicacy and eating it to minimize its impact.
If my beloved dungeness crab is not available (like this season), much less threatened, there's gonna be a lot of green crab cakes eaten in my vicinity! Bring them on...

A simple solution would be to throw the native species back...
If they tend to be smaller, narrower openings in traps. There has got to be some difference.

They use walnut shells to clean engine valves, maybe crab shells would work, too.

Old Bay seasoning was invented by a German Jewish person by the name of Gustav Brunn. His original job was selling spices. Imagine that.

It's not that good of a spice blend if you ask me. But I didn't flee from the Nazis. I'm Swedish so they didn't look down on my family as much. Still I guess I'd rather not be dead than be murdered by the worst people in the history of the world.

He brought the spices to America and now we have that.

That's the story! That's .... well i guess that's that. I don't have anything else to say right now.

We also need a big picnic table. Newspaper to cover it will be the hard thing to find.

Way back in oregon, a bud and me were crabbing, first day of the season, at port orford pier. Yeah we had six or eight, limit of twenty. A guy from one of the boats comes over and starts tossing a cooler of crabs off the pier, crabs light on meat. . We asked if he could toss the bigger ones in our cooler, we walked off the pier with our legal limit of forty crabs. A can of old bay anda big pot of boiling water later we fed six of us a pile of dungeness crab, garlic bread, and a lot of hamm's beer. That particular feast will always be remembered and never recreated, everyone's long since gone their ways...

And on fried potatoes...

/Yes, my relatives are from the Eastern Shore...

Seems like the seafood companies could easily buy up the captured green crabs and  mix it in
with things like the pre-made frozen crab cakes, gumbo and stuff like that and the problem would solve it's self.

He was also fired from McCormick for being Jewish so he started his own company. McCormick had to wait until he was dead to buy the Old Bay brand because he refused to sell it to them.

I seriously doubt he fled Europe with a suitcase full of spices, and I'm pretty sure everything he used in it was available in the US. His magic was just the combination... but I guess you needed a story. *shrug*
