We should send ONE person in a Winnie the Pooh costume.
That  person would compete in every single event, in the costume.

That is an olympics I might actually watch.

That, or all athlete need to wear the same T-Rex costume to even the playing field.

I would pay top dollar to watch a competitive aussie football match with those costumes.

Real-life Laff-A-Lympics? I'm intrigued.

Mother, should I trust the government?
Mother, will they put me in the firing line?
Ooh, ah. Is it just a waste of time?

will be immediately taken to an "isolation facility."

AKA Beijing Best Western.

I recommend people boycott by not watching or even checking medal counts on the internet.

If we really care about the crap that China pulls, you won't engage.

You know a snowboarder would do this

If no one showed up, the template stories about the condoms in Olympic Village and the hookup culture would still get filed.

This isn't being held in a country with no COVID controls?  And infected people will get quarantined?  And sick people will get sent to the hospital?  This is an outrage!

If MSNBC is broadcasting again, not watching should not be an issue.

I'm not watching. I just don't have the slightest interest to give the Chinese any attention. The only things that did have my interest was Hockey. Without NHL'ers, and no Henrik Lundqvist for Sweden, I just don't care much. If there's a few shots on SportsCenter I won't turn my back, but I won't actively give them any money. Choose countries that AREN'T pure evil, please.

Not even a single event aired on MSNBC last Olympics but at least you got to crowbar that in.

This.  Even with Eichel hurt, this is the closest the US had a shot at gold since Vancouver.  Now, we're just going to watch the KHL all-star team give another gold to the former US president (not Trump).

When it came down to Beijing or Almaty, Kazakstan, I still would've gone with Kazakstan.  Hell, they embraced Borat, and was going to invite Sasha Baron Cohen for promos.

I wonder how many non-Chinese gold medal contenders will suddenly test positive for COVID two days before their event.

I'm boycotting it personally. Seeing how transparent China's been about Covid from the start, with the advent of Omicron  I'm concerned I can catch it via standard TCP/IP at this point.

Maybe RTFA for once. All of your "points" were addressed within it. Or you can wallow in your ignorance and serve as a laughing stock for the rest of us.

Yup, came to say exactly this.  I can count on one hand how many Olympic events I have purposely watched over my 53 years of life on one hand, and have 4 fingers and a thumb (and palm) left over.  The only exceptions being the sports blooper reels and when it happens to be on the news (which I don't watch either).

Just not interested.

Yeah, Kazakhstan isn't a much better choice either.

Alright.  I'm laughing now.  But, no stock was involved.  Maybe some crypto because THAT is laughable.

Oh they'll just play the old 2008 footage and cross out the year and replace it with 2022.

Wow look at that, Usain Bolt broke another world record.  Wow Kobe's still alive.

I don't like sports that are judged in general. Especially ones where there's no defense. Figure skating might be hard as fark, but it's just dancing on ice and I've never given a single shiat about dance as an art form.
