Cool!  I enjoyed season one a lot!  Very happy to see it coming back!

Excellent. I was bummed when that got canned. Excellent premise. It recalled to mind elements of Fred Pohl's Gateway saga.

Awesome.  Fantastic show.

Tried watching it, didn't get half way through the 1st ep.

Character is a completely malleable mimbo.

Sweet. I'd given up hope of another season.

This gets a second season, and yet The Expanse is over. Wtf.

I am glad it was one of the first shows I binged during the lockdown.

Love this show. And don't forget the incredibly sexy Andy Allo. Fun fact: she was a singer and guitarist n Prince's band.

I thought it was mostly good, but wish it would have made up its mind what it wanted to be.  Is it a rom-com?  An Idiocracy-esque spoof on modern life?  A murder mystery?  A techno-thriller?  Seemed like it was trying to be a little bit of everything which led to some really jarring moments.

Still, the leads were both great and had fantastic chemistry, and the overall story is pretty interesting.  Will definitely watch another season.

That was the whole point of the show. He becomes a better person after he's dead and realizes that he was surrounded with parasites and assholes.

It's like everything else on the internet, it is a mix of everything.   I definitely could not have enjoyed it if it was simply a rom-com.  At least with all the different elements, it keeps me wondering what is next.   And watching the people who only get like a gb of data a month to live on reminds me of my internet connection sometimes playing games.

Wait, wasn't Gateway about alien pods that travel to random locations, with adventurous people riding them to fortune or death?

I really liked it, but I thought Amazon canceled it. Glad to see it resurrected.

I think that was my biggest problem.  I really dislike the "detective" sister and the whole murder mystery subplot.

Yes, yes it was.  'Beyond the Blue Event Horizon', 'Gateway', 'Heechee Rendezvous' - I haven't read the whole thing and don't know offhand if there are others.  I don't get the relationship myself, but there may be a VR-world plot in there somewhere.

Frankly, I think Upload could be seen as closer to the alien Super-VR James Hogan wrote into his 'Giants' books.  I would *kill* for a connection to VISAR.

It wasn't bad, but it was too close to The Good Place to avoid comparison and in relation turned out to be C+ material.  Maybe season 2 will be better.

OK Jan. The Expanse had what... 6 or 7 seasons and a revival? That's much more than most shows get.

It was very The Good Place-like at the start but towards the end of the first season started to separate itself. I liked the characters and saw them adapt and grow. Looking forward to season 2.

Book 6 was a natural stopping point.

Yes, it has Good Place vibes, but isn't a rip off.  Really great show, and I'm very happy its coming back.

Liked the show as well, rom com murder mystery sci fi was a fun idea.

No spoilers, but there was a scene in season one that had to be one of the funnies farking things I've ever seen on TV. The funny thing was, you *knew* it was coming, but I was still on the floor anyway when it happened.

Correct, but shockingly, he managed to explore some other themes in those five books. One was what he chose to call "gigabit space" (a term which aged like milk), which could run uploaded images of the dead. They also garnered the technology for this from the aliens (the Heechee).

I thought the title was Utopia, and I was going to condescendingly ask how the US show compared to the UK original I watched, but I was wrong.  Sorry.
