FTA: " The idea may be straightforward, but its execution has left something to be desired, by which I mean these cocktails do not taste good. I should know - I tasted them for you."

I ended up consulting the broths' ingredients lists and jerry-rigging my own versions at home with the help of such mixologically questionable additions as Thai chili paste and instant ramen seasoning packets.

JFC. No surprise that these are the same geniuses who just discovered extreme ironing.

Brothtails sounds like a business on the outskirts of Vegas.

Man hasn't ever tried to make a cocktail that features rich, meaty broths because that's insane?

I've been doing something similar for years and I call them meatshots. Whenever I grill or smoke beef or pork roast I save all the juice after I carve them up and mix it 50/50 with Maker's Mark*. They are really good.

* Maker's relatively sweet flavor goes well but some of the other bourbons aren't as good. I'm sure this is a personal preference so YMMV.

Easier still, though I don't understand why:

Yeah how about no, the amount of sodium in those things makes my heart skimp a beat or 3.

Even as a diehard Farker, I'm not convinced alcohol belongs in everything. That being said, if I need to have it in broth, I'd prefer a nice bowl of French onion, made with cognac.

Makes sense, I've used Maker's in BBQ sauce for tailgates before.  The trick is to use the booze as the sweetener, and reduce the sugar from any of the other ingredients as much as possible.

By the way, I'm a big fan of Bull Shots; chilled in the summer and with hot broth in what passes for the winter in these parts.  Link goes to a good basic recipe you can fiddle with.

why would a read the reviews of a human who could not make them with the actual boxed broth lines they were created for? that's dumb.

anyway, something else on the page was more relevant to my interests (though i knew the answer):

TY4 the lnk. His opinions were no surprise. My take: people at raves don't want to water down their experience. My baseline BAC is rarely 0.00 and I think going without would harsh my mellow and engender a bad trip. It's been years. Still having tech probs btw.

Cock ale. Made with chicken. Not actually as gross as it sounds (I have made it.)
