Bathtub Cynic: ChrisDe: I heard on the radio today that Brady is last among starting QBs in receiving roughing the passer penalties. Didn't know how to check it out, but it sure doesn't seem right.

Middle of the pack but some of these guys didn't start this season, just an average for starters from the last ten years.

Matt Ryan is king, and strangley Fitzy is his prince.

Brady gets the call when he needs it. Third down and a bad throw? Oh Tom got sneezed on, penalty.

There's also the fact that guys tend to avoid roughing Brady at all costs, because they KNOW the flag is coming.

The stat that would be more meaningful would be, "How many questionableroughing the passer calls has Brady been the beneficiary of?"

And honestly, I don't know the answer to that question.

Some QBs are less likely to get roughing calls because, um, let's just say, "for reasons."

That comes from working under Belichick.
BB was the driving force behind the massive uptick in DPI penalties and then Roughing the Passer. Belichick knew it'd heavily benefit his pass-heavy offense and it paid off.
Brady's just a little late to the game here.

It will be nice when he retires, then the football media will only mention him every hour, instead of every half hour.
