This is apparently a few years old, although some new research insights were covered a couple months ago.

Earlier article about discovery

More recent article (basically yeah, the pyroclastic flow cooked it real good)

This isn't even the oldest bit of olive oil residue found in a vessel. Apparently there's a discovery dated back 4000 years or so.

Sadly, these finds don't seem to provide any insight into the types of olives being consumed at the time; it's mostly just analysis of the various fat residues that allows researches to say, "Yup, this was olive oil."
