We've had a few threads with the outrage crowd crying and whining about why Biden offered TFG's lawyers a 4 day extension on a small 4th tranche of documents that TFG's lawyers apparently missed in their attempts to claim Executive Privilege (EP). They didn't understand. Some claimed TFG's lawyers did it on purpose as a stalling tactic. Ha.

Here's a detail many missed. The administration gave the court notice that they would hold off on those documents until Jan 19th to give SCOTUS a chance to rule on whether or not they were going to hear TFG's appeal or drop the administrative stay.

THEY LIT A FIRE UNDER THE SUPREME COURT'S ASS TO GET OFF THE POT

And they did. SCOTUS issued their decision. They did it on Jan 19th. 3D chess people. They knew they were going to win but they found a way to hurry it up.

Apparently the Jan 6 committee was given the documents shortly after the ruling. So something happened.

The Jan 6 committee gets records of what TFG was doing while the siege of the Capitol was in progress. This helps nail down very specific details of his failure to act for hours. It provides lower courts a strong basis to deny any future claims of Executive Privilege by members of TFG's staff, most especially regarding topics disclosed by documents released where EP is already effectively waived by this decision.

Brace yourself.

In summary:  not only did Trump lose badly, his lawyers did such a poor job with his feeble position that he's destroyed anyone else who tries to invoke "executive privilege" in this matter.

Nice work by The Donald - again.

I have this fight weekly. If you make up an abbreviation you're never going to use again, you made the damn thing longer for no reason.

At least he didn't write out a number then put it in parentheses immediately afterwards.

Maybe.  But don't discount American apathy.  The Jan. 6 committee could lay out in exquisite detail how Trump personally endorsed, cajoled, hell, even led the mob to take over the Capitol.  Unless the public gets outraged enough about it to actually DEMAND accountability, then nothing gonna happen.

And I fear that the only thing the public seems capable of getting outraged about is Brittney Spears getting ripped off.
