Are people really outraged by that?

Woulda loved to see Mike McCarthy do the same.  A lot.

Randy Gregory's ears would STILL be ringing.

If you look hard enough you'll find someone outraged by anything. Especially on the internet. How do you think clickbait culture works?

I find explanations of redundant questions offensive.

Christ, if Nick Sirianni did that, Jalen Reagor would've been like Big farking Ben at noon.

The player's union is saving that ammo for future use. I'm sure they quietly filed a complaint with the league to keep that door open.

I thought it merited a bit more than just a little giggle from Troy Aikman on the broadcast.

The fact is, players don't have to put up with it. And the fine from the league backs that up.

JFC. These extremely large and muscular people are paid to run into each other at very high speeds. We're supposed to fetch fainting couches when one of them gets a smack?

It's like the collective panty-knots when Myles Garrett booped Mason Rodolph.

The cognitive dissonance in football fans is incredible.

They don't get paid for some asshole Type A coach to hit them in the head though.

You should read these contracts they sign. Crazy I know.

My coach in high school used his whistle, and I turned out fine. My coach in high school used his whistle.

I'm outraged you would dare ask me such a question.

Um, there's a HUGE difference between smacking a guy on a helmet (something he probably barely felt) and literally taking a guy's helmet off and beating him with it.

One of those is not an issue.  The other could have easily caused brain damage.

/And was not a 'boop', moron.

In fairness, if you let a coach do it without punishment, you gotta let the player respond in kind.

And I don't think professional football players caving in 70-year-olds' skulls is gonna go over great with sponsors.

Hey hey hey....let's not be too hasty here. I mean, at least not until we run some numbers on that.

Did you see the replay of it? Arians did very nearly catch a haymaker from him.

Nah, that was the game I thought "eh, I'll check the score and if it seems like it might be interesting in the second half, I'll tune in."

I saw it was 31-0.

I did not tune in and I don't really watch highlights

Considering the guy made a mistake that would get a high school player in trouble, he's lucky the coach didn't try to spank him instead.
