He would have to fight to become leader, should a challenger appear.   I can't expect many challenges, but you never know.

I'd watch him fight Shuri for the title, lol. She might be too busy coughing to land a blow.

After having to stop filming for several months due to Letitia Wright's injuries...

Yeah, her injuries, plus the fact she's an anti-vaxxer and couldn't travel because she refused to get the shot.

who was it that said he never did his own stunts because the stunt actors are highly trained, and it would be vain of him to think that he could do what they do with little to no training.  also, an injury to the star would mean halting production, while an injury to a stuntman would just result in get-well cards and cookie bouquets.  i made up that last part, but yeah

Marvel: Here's a truckload of money to play this character for the next 10 years.
Letitia Wright: Thanks! I'm so blessed!
*pandemic ensues, guy who plays Black Panther dies*
Marvel: Ok, here's more money. You're going to be a star! We've made changes and can start filming if everyone is vaccinated. Let's go!
Letitia: Hold up. I'm not getting vaccinated. Uh uh. No way.
*reported "accident" ensues, she disappears from social media*
Marvel: Winston! My man! Let's talk! Where can I park this truck? You know, I always LOVED your character. Are you busy for the next 10 years? I hope you're vaccinated!

With this much background drama, the movie is almost certainly going to be crap.

It's not Lupita Nyong'o? Fail. I loved Winston Duke as M'Baku but Lupita in a skin tight outfit? You can't go wrong with that.

I'm just glad both are great actors, either way I'll be there opening night.

I'd almost bet it was Roger Moore who famously even had a stuntman who handled running for him.

The Black Panther was the worst part of the Black Panther film.  He was super boring.  Any of his supporting cast will be a huge improvement.

for me, if you can make such significant changes to "the story", on the fly, then you never realy had one in the fits place, you were just mkaing it up a we go.

If you are just making it up as we go, you got nothing really, you likely wind up creating nothing. At least nothing worthy of note or remembrance later.

I doubt this is going to be a real Star Wars IX situation.

That's the uber extreme version of, just making it up as we go.
it don't have to be anywhere near that, for it to still be bad and obvious they were just making it up as they went.

you know the idea that we do not need to literally be eating a turd (Star Wars IX), but we can still say "tastes like chit."

According to IMDB, Sir Rodger didn't need a stuntman to beat the hell out of Lee Marvin on the set of Shout At The Devil in 1976.
Granted, Marvin was probably drunk. But he was still Lee freaking Marvin.

That's literally every movie ever made. Script & story changes are made constantly.

And that's while they are still shooting.

Any film of sufficient budget will have at least 3 versions - the one that was written, the one that was shot, and the one that was edited together.

The first Iron Man movie was pretty much made up as they went and it started the wave of MCU movies.

That can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how one feels about the MCU and the results.

Maybe. But even a fake Star Wars IX situation would be bad enough.

Also, Great Gorilla M'Baku was, by a wide margin, the best part of the first movie.

It takes 3-4 doubles to make one Steven Segal. He has a stint double for fight scenes, a stunt double for other action, a photo double for long shots, a photo double for close/over-the-shoulder type shots. He only comes to set for close ups with dialog.
