I sold some vintage restaurant ware to a set buyer for Naomi. Apparently there's an episode planned set in a 60s-themed diner. I can report that the plates, bowls and cups are, in fact, 60s vintage. When much of the first shipment got broken (thanks UPS) I drove 300 miles to Atlanta to hand deliver the replacements. A HUGE operation filming in a great big factory building with a bunch of tents outside.

CSB!

Subby here. I didn't even know that Naomi was a comic book character when I submitted last week's thread. I was simply making a Soap reference (and again this time). But it seems to be a good show

I'm guessing ― Doomsday?

Okay, Naomi knows DC comic books really well (having one of the top three comics blogs), she's confronted with a man with metal wings and he says he's from Thanagar, and she doesn't recognize that name!?

I had to look it up when she told me what show the dishes are for, but I'm an old. What's amazing is she found the dishes listed on a local Facebook Marketplace group from 300 miles away, I didn't have any listed on eBay at the time.

Maybe them being on the show will inspire an overnight craze for that particular pattern, I've got another 1,500 pieces sitting in storage.

"What about Naomi" was the non-sequiter question in the upcoming episodes teaser for the vignette "Love of Chair" on The Electric Company TV show.

So...no Soap.

...or radio

I believe that the logical conclusion is that while superman is in comics in this universe, the hawkpeople are not.

Thanks. I remember that it was some parody of Soap operas, but was blanking on which one. Flashback to my youth there with "Love of Chair."

He says that he's fought alongside Superman, and also discussed ancient Egypt, so apparently he's Hawkman from the same universe as the Superman in this show.

That would also make sense. :)

He also mentioned maybe introducing Naomi to him, so perhaps if that's the case he has a way back?

I'm DVRing Naomi but really enjoying Superman.
I can't believe they would introduce Doomsday this early in the shows life so I'm going to assume it's something else.

And as soon as Jordan introduced Natalie to Sarah I said "....and whoop, there it is!"

It weirds me out a bit how a world with the internet could forget Superman. They said Superman exists in the current universe, right?

Side-question: Which Superman, or Supermans. Supermen? do you think we will see here?

Lois & Superman:

I'm actually happy to see Morgan Edge again.  He's interesting, and I don't think he's irredeemable.  Ma-El is pretty hot.

Kal's mental problems are linked to the 'earthquakes', caused by something strong and bipedal.  Something the mining company meant to happen.

And Sarah's big secret was.. a lesbian kiss?  If that's all it was, count yourself lucky, Jordan.

Lana will run for mayor... I saw that coming as soon as the other guy backed out.  Hopefully she won't need Superman to protect her from the current mayor.

Naomi:

Still kinda slow building.  Looking for questions with her friends, most of whom want to be more than friends.  The tattoo guy demonstrated that his wings work.  The military is now concerned about Aliens, and Superman 'might' be one.. only might?

We got a 'no splash' at the end, but we didn't get to see why.

So which Earth is Superman and Lois taking place on?

Lois revealed that Lucy got caught up in a cult and almost OD'd on sleeping pills. That sounds nothing like the Lucy that was dating Jimmy Olsen on Supergirl.

Supposedly the Tyler Hœchler Superman was on Earth-38 with the Melissa Benoit Supergirl originally, and after Crisis that was merged with Earth-1 to form Earth-Prime (remember, the only reason they were ever separate was because Supergirl was originally on CBS, not The CW, so crossovers were problematic). Crisis also changed the nature of Superman's and Lois's kids from being a newborn daughter (?) to being twin sons of unstated age.

However, some years apparently passed since then. Both Lois and Clark look noticeably older, and not by the few years since the Crisis. Also, both looked younger in the flashback to his origin in the episode last season when "Morgan Edge" was accessing his memories, so I think they've been deliberately aged via makeup. I think that this series takes place at least a decade after the other Arrowverse shows.

It could be like the movie "Yesterday," but I think it's just another Earth mostly like ours where Superman and the other DC heroes exist only in fiction, yet somehow a connection has allowed them to appear for real.

As I said before, I'd never heard of Naomi because I haven't read comics in about a decade (got too expensive, so I took a time of yet another wave of impending continuity-resetting crossover events to cut ties ― I used to be quite the comics geek around here). So far, I like! She seems to be the best new PoV character (as in a character that readers can identify with and imagine that, through them, we're meeting the more famous characters for the first time) since the Will Peyton "Starman." (I still have a soft spot for Will because he was a major character in my fanfic attempt to fix Armageddon: 2001 back in the 1990s.)

Yeah - I am not familiar with the comic at all. I am enjoying the ride so far, though - It is fun, CW abundance of pretty people accounted for.
