I hope to hell the Israelis have more guts than our democrats and tell him that's non-f*cking-negotiable.  He can accept it, or not get a deal.

He knows he's farked and the prosecutors aren't going to sign off on anything that says he can go back to politics.  I mean, does he realize that his political connections while PM are the reason he's on trial, right?

Not to mention he is 72. Not going to jail At All in exchange for being legally "morally inept" which means no running for office, sounds like a slam dunk to me.

That's just the thing. I *DO* question your faith. And I *CAN* question your faith.

Is this guy stupid or yes?

He's a rich man he's going to live up into 100. Just going to get those Rothschild doctors and the young healthy heart of some patriotic Israeli if he needs it.

Is he trying to negotiate the terms in his own corruption case? If so, that's ballsy.

Some of them do, anyway - the fact he's actually on trial is proof enough of that.

The rest are loyalists just as blinkered as any of ours. Turns out, propaganda works because propaganda works.

Fine then.  Proceed with the trial.

Not really. When the prosecution comes to you with a plea deal that's a sweetheart type of thing, it's a sign they don't think their case is so great and they don't want to do the actual work to follow through on it. They're looking for an easy way to make the case go away so they don't lose.

So, if they're coming forward with this offer for a deal that's like no jail time and some minor conviction, why are they so concerned with some specific thing about kicking him out of politics? Sounds like a total shiat-show for them to be fiddle faddeling around trying to bait him into agreeing to get out of politics. It sounds incredibly weird, and he'd be right to reject it.

Luckily in Israel people vote, and Israelis could block his return to politics if courts fail to do so.

Israel has jailed PMs and Presidents before and I have no doubt that the prosecution has the evidence on deck they need. They are giving him a chance to bow out gracefully because they are trying to avoid drama and headache of a drawn out trial just as they are hashing out a bunch of domestic issues.

Then fold your hand. Dismiss the case and get on with all the stuff that seems to be so important that a criminal trial could disrupt.

He refused to vacate the PM's residence after he was kicked out of government. Ballsy doesn't even begin to desribe him.

Pretty sure that one is on the crazy wife, not him although he is a delusional narcissistic nutjob.
Incidentally, there's a lawsuit going on unrelated to his corruption charges against a former Prime-Minister who said he and his wife and son are mentally ill. That guy (Olmert) refused to apologize and he's going to court against netanyahu under (among others) the 'Emet Dibarti' (I was saying the truth) defense and he's calling for a psychiatric examination of the Netanyahu family (link).
