It could be good if cities banned big chonky cars from the city centres but allowed cars like these. As I look out my window right now I see a 4x4 Range Rover honking because (the driver is a blind idiot and) a big Mercedes is having to reverse because a bus is coming the other way up the narrow streets.

The best part about if everyone had these cars is we could put thick bumpers on them and just bump each other for funs.

They'll sell like cocaine and "craft" bourbon. But you won't see them on the streets. They'll be used to whisk executives around office buildings like indoor rickshas.

Passing an 18 wheeler on a highway must be an exhilarating experiencing.

The big 4x4 trucks everyone drives around here would knock that off the road like Mario bonking a turtle.

Salient points for those too cool to rtfa: it's only being sold in Europe at this time, and it can't be driven on the highway. It's a scooter that keeps you dry in the rain. Seems reasonable for its target audience.

They won't be sold in the US because they can't meet road safety standards. There's no crumple zone in that vehicle.

frankb00th: Passing an 18 wheeler on a highway must be an exhilarating experiencing.

It tops out at 56mph so no highways - this is mostly intended as a scooter replacement (as a quad cycle) in urban areas so I also imagine crashworthiness requirements are a bit lighter.

Thank you for the clarification. It dispels the visions of being aspirated into the undercarriage.

The whole vehicle is a crumple zone.
