for some reason I loved that film as a kid. plus I swear I remember an actual retail product in my 70s/80s childhood - but this may very well be a mandela-effect thing.

Japan has black sesame ice cream that look a bit like wet concrete. It's so good. As is the black sesame pudding, black sesame mochi, etc... Black sesame is a highly underrated desert flavor.

My favorite is the black sesame fried dango and that paste for spreading on toast. I had a jar of that sitting around and decided to sub it in a recipe for peanut butter cookies. So good.

YOINK!!!!!

I made peanut butter cookies last week (to use up an old-ish jar I got for making Pad Thai... I don't make pad thai nearly enough, apparently). This week the wife expectantly asked "Are you baking cookies again soon?".  I'm soooo gonna try that ASAP.

I stand by the theory that "the grey stuff" is foi gras. This is just a kid friendly version.

Jerry Orbach's voice was in my head as I read that headline.

i always assumed "the grey stuff" in the animated beauty and the beast was a savory food product of some kind.

this just looks like some kind of faux-mousse/weirdo frosting thingee. that also wants to rip on the midwest trashy kid dessert "dirt" -BUT in a way that disney could charge $16 a serving for.....

confession: "dirt" served in a flower pot with gummie worms was like my FAVORITE weird summer birthday party, or girl scout camp, thing EVER!

BUT only make it with vanilla pudding! the oreos in chocolate pudding just "get lost" flavorwise.
