With segregationist Sinema vowing to assist in the destruction of democracy TFG will be anointed in 2024 and he will pardon himself and jail anyone that brought charges against him for his numerous criminal acts.

Oh I can't wait until the inevitable comment about Eeyores, doomsayers, and so on.

Remember how many times we got our hopes up about everything from the Pee Tape to Mueller to impeachment taking Trump down and none of it happened?

The bitterness and cynicism is from repeatedly being let down.

I want to believe the day is coming, but until such time as Cheetolini is actually wearing cuffs and in police custody, I'm going to not believe a damn thing.  It's for my own mental health, as the repeated toll of getting my hopes up and being let down over and over is too much.

I have more hope in bank and tax fraud in New York.

You can't valuate a property differently by a factor of 150 to a bank and the government.

Depends, on whether you one of the "beautiful people" (to coin a term), or you have the right connections.

Us average Joe's?  Yeah, we are doing some time....

Plus I see this as a more cut and dry case in terms of convincing a jury.

There will likely be documents with his signature on them that will be easy to show a jury.  "Here you see he signed that the property was worth X, but here it was only 50% in of X. "

Any sedition/incitement case against Trump is going to be too complex I fear.  I still struggle to see a direct legal connection to where you can go here is the document or the point where Trump did the illegal thing.

I'm not saying he isn't guilty. Mom just saying I don't see it being easy to prove in a court.

Yeah but Garland is actually in a position to accomplish the real thing. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go finish toweling down Salma before I pluck her brow.

Is this where we see recycled posts nuh-uhing and using an article that suggests something very well might happen as a pretext to declare that nothing, in fact, is going to happen?

Reads up thread.

Yup, Sure looks like it.

My thoughts on this article, for what it's worth:
1. There is very little hard information here to advance a case that the DOJ is in fact working towards an indictment of Trump.
2. The 6 month timeline in the GA investigation is a little deflating, but, of course, it's not really a prediction an actual indictment date as just a general indication of what the timeframe might be for a charging decision.
3. What I do find significant is that there are suddenly a lot of congressmen going on record about how much evidence there is against Trump.  This could either be a foolish campaign tactic, or, in my opinion more likely, tipping their hat about conversations they've had with the Jan 6 committee.  Raskin, for his part, says the hearings will "blow the roof" off of Congress.  The Democrats are strongly hinting they've got the goods. And you can see the GOP retreat from TFG beginning already.

"My intuition is that they are" looking carefully at whether Trump broke the law, he said. "My sense is they're looking [at] everything in a diligent way and they haven't made a decision."

Tim Kaine's intuition is that they are investigating things and may or may not indict trump, what a hot take.

Well, one side is trying to do away with Democracy while the other side is screaming for the actual equal application of the law. That's how it works.

Tim Kaine's hot takes about politics are about as valuable as Dean Cain's hot takes about politics.

I am sick to the farking teeth of reading about what might, could, potentially, maybe happen.

Until something does happen, I won't even bother reading.  It's a waste of my time.  This is just more attempts to get our hopes up.
