So does that mean the Predator is a Disney Princess?

I'd probably enjoy Predators and Aliens in Kingdom Hearts more than Mortal Kombat.

It's Disney. Bleeding is optional.

Sheeet. Disney had the copyright laws written, so I'm pretty sure they know every way to twist them to their advantage

The "return to creator" clause seems like a bit of a mess. Once things hit the screen, there are so many hands in the pot that piecing out the copyrights ends up killing the ability to use the franchise. Just look at the mess that has been the Friday the 13th franchise rights for the last few years.

Also, isn't it time to stop trying to make Predator a thing. There have been one and a half good Predator movies.

Predator 2 was okay. It at least tried to do something different instead of remake the first movie. Predators was fine and I thought The Predator was entertaining enough.

The first one was the only great movie in the franchise, though.

NeoCortex42: Predator 2 was okay.

That was my 1/2 in 1 1/2 good movies.

I figured. The other two sequels are watchable, though. Plenty of wasted potential, but not outright bad.

So how long until Lucas can yank back the rights to Star Wars?

That's their policy, Period.

It just means they have to re-license the trademark. As the article notes, Disney still owns the copyright either way did re-licensing is essentially the only option.

The current Copyright law's term(s) is too long. 14 years, with at an optional 7 year renewal is plenty long.

At this point, our culture has been turned into a landscape of rentier companies that just regurgitate sequels and reboots.

You want fewer reboots?

Fix copyright.

If I had to put them in order, it would be Predator,
Predators, Predator 2....

The Predator.

I had such high hopes for The Predator because Shane Black was in charge.   What a letdown.

Predator 2 is a good movie, as is Predators, they just suffer in comparison to the original.

So Predator was released in 1987, which was 35 years ago, yet the film looks relatively modern.  Nothing in the film pegs it as "vintage".

Consider this, however:  if the film was made 35 years before it was, just considering the equipment,  Dutch and his team would have been armed with Korean War era guns, uniforms, equipment, and radios.   So M-1 Garands, M-3A1 grease guns, Browning Model 1919A6 and BAR machine guns, etc.   Radio, instead of a nifty satellite radio, would be a Morse code only HF radio.

That would have been jarring to our eyes in 1987, and it would really date the film, but modern small arms haven't changed all that much since the 1980s.   So Predator doesn't look "old".

Well, she was in The Ridicules of Chronic:

So it's not like she hasn't been in films like that before.
