I believe the link 5 down sums up the best use for vodak.

Only "rules" I remember are
1) never drink without a reason - so make any old shiat up while toasting and then you have a reason!
2) in the USSR, most (all?) vodka was sold with a foil seal instead of a bottle cap. No way to close it after. This is because it is bad luck to not finish a bottle once it's started.

The various Russian vodka drinking rules are in part to distinguish the drinkers from degenerate alcoholics which are a big problem in Russian culture.
Vodka blamed for high death rates in Russia

The study, in The Lancet, says 25% of Russian men die before they are 55, and most of the deaths are down to alcohol. The comparable UK figure is 7%.

I wonder how many claim they are not real alcoholics because they often don't drink alone.

Based on absolutely every previous Fark thread that mentions vodka, I assure you that most Farkers need a great deal of vodka advice, starting with "drinking a few Western brands like Grey Goose no more qualifies you to comment on vodka than drinking Bud Lite qualifies you to critique the Munich beer festival".

You're welcome.

'never buy a mini bottle' is my first on a list. 'never buy bottom shelf' is #2.
