I had no idea it was still on and that Carlton was the host. The spirit of the 90s lives on still.

How is that show even feasible from a business standpoint? Are there so many people not aware of YouTube?

Same time of people that would watch QVC, old people that don't like the internet and prefer old school TV.

Eh, the show does the work for you. It separates the wheat from the chaff, if you will.

And the funny from your television.

Nah Grandma liked it.

I was sad that the Fresh Prince guy was so cheesy. He makes Wayne Brady look like Malcolm X.

It's not unusual.

There's a YouTube channel called Memory Hole with all the weird and too out there videos rejected by AFHV. Allegedly. Fair warning: it's like staring into insanity.

On the way to the grave the minister stepped on a shovel and the handle popped him in the nuts?

Curation has its value, not to mention the long running value of the brand name. Half of MTV's schedule is old episode of their AFV clone Ridiculousness, and Comedy Central has Tosh.0as late night filler when they weren't doing South Park marathons.

These shows are also cheap to produce and reusable.

When he died AFHV broke the news on their show...during the announcement of the winner. So nobody saw who won that night.

Then they make a terribly unfunny tribute to Bob.

My god how he would have approved of this whole thing.

My problem with those funny video shows (like on TruTV) is the talking heads commenting on them and the "BONKS" and "WHIRRRLLLLL"s they feel it's necessary to add.

All those "Worlds Dumbest ......" shows.

Just show the clip of the guy falling down!!

When I was a kid I would love the riffing that Bob would do to the videos. Found out later in the writer's room there was Trace Beaulieu, Crow T. Robot himself.

I very much miss the Bob Saget years on AFV.  Every like 5 years or so I'll find an episode or two floating around somewhere.  They were the best.  Is there anywhere to stream those?  Probably not.

Bob even did a spinoff a couple years ago called 'Videos After Dark' which was literally his exact same schtick from AFV but with slightly raunchier videos and it was awesome.  But then they canned it after ONE episode.  I'm still annoyed at that.

it's just the lamest thing ever and he helped make it that way

You want wacky? A family walks into a talent agency, says to the agent, "Have we got a show for you!"

Things have been a little slow for the agent, so he asks, "Oh really, what do you have?"

......

Old people use old tech to watch old shows because that is what they are familiar with.

Even though I hooked my mom up with a roku and streaming accounts, she still watches regular cable tv because less new thinking is involved.  This was a woman who did bookkeeping on computers for years and now won't touch a single one.  Dementia sucks. :(

That was kind of hilarious from a tonal shift point of view.

We'll occasionally tune in on Sunday nights as the kids find it funny.  When the "breaking news" graphic popped up I thought it was going to be something much more serious.

Our broadcast at least switched back right before the credits rolled, so we could see who won the big prize.  But they rarely pick the funniest videos for the prizes anyway.

My 5 yr old has to watch AFV every Sunday and when the news came on, she actually said out loud "What the hell?!"  The only time she got a pass on a bad word.

Speaking as a person with a roku, it's so awful that my blood pressure has probably gone up 20 points and I regularly want to throw the remote into the tv.

Here's how bad it is these days:
-Press a direction on the remote.  Does nothing.
-Press that direction on the remote a few more times.  Does nothing.
-Out of nowhere, roku goes 'OH YOU WANTED TO MOVE?!  Ok, all those directions you input over the last 10 seconds?  We're just going to spam them.
-Repeat until I get pissed or FINALLY get what I want to select
-HDCP error pops up that they refuse to fix.
-Repeat this entire sequence.

If I HAD basic cable, I'd use it over roku any day.

/I really need to buy a really awesome new computer and then smash the roku with a giant hammer.  My blood pressure will decrease immensely.

This show leaches the funny out of everything.  Yes, even Saget.  I've seen glowing accounts this week about how he allegedly elevated the show... but no. He didnt.  I'm glad he got the paycheck, but comedically the main benefit of the show was Saget being able to mock it in his gigs.

It's on tv several times a day on several channels . If you can't find anything good on tv you can always find AFV on at least .
